Not to mention Perk - that guy is such a good defender, not as good from the weakside as elite defenders (like KG) but his on-ball defence is so strong.
What's scary about Phoenix is Amare is only getting back into match condition and nowhere near 100% - yet the Suns are still 3-0 and look very comfortable. If (when) he gets back to full fitness they're going to be a difficult team - however the biggest issue with them, as always, is the lack of a bench. Good God it's a dreadful second unit, the starters will have to play 38+ minutes a night, yet again, just to make the playoffs.
Magic are looking great but geez that Celtics defence is suffocating. Should be a great battle out East, considering the Cavs now have West back and are working in 3 rotation players, give them a couple months and they could be clicking as well.
Out West Melo is on fire but surely he'll cool off - he's never shot above 50% for a season and considering he takes a lot of mid to long range shots it will be hard to keep that going, not to mention 14 free throw attempts per game.
That's another reason why the Celtics front court defense is so great, as they have so much versatlity to throw at you. You have KG and Sheed, who are great for guarding quicker PF's and centres while you have a man mountain like Perkins who's already proven he can handly the behemoth's likes D12 and Shaq. It's scary stuff really as they have the tools to handle any front court, even LA's I feel.
Yeah Melo will definitely cool down, especially when J.R Smith comes back. With Smith out, someone needed to carry the load and Melo decided to pick up the slack. 30 ppg seems a reasonable target. I'm hoping he can aim for a 30-7-4.
