Spurs lose again, this time to Houston. Meanwhile the Lakers beat Utah.

The gap between them is a game and a half now.

Anybody watch Patty Mills on Aussies Abroad before the Lakers/Jazz game?

Spurs have now lost six in a row, amazing. Bulls win their 11th straight over the Pistons and the Nuggets keep on winning. Thunder/Nuggets is going to be a great series.

The Pistons are retiring Rodman's #10 jersey which is great to see this guy should be HOF.

After the Bucks were virtually eliminated from the Eastern Conference playoffs in a loss Friday to the Indiana Pacers, Bucks starting point guard Brandon Jennings publicly expressed what many of his teammates had privately felt for months.

"Some guys have the mind-set of winning on the team and some guys just don't,'' Jennings said.

Jennings then an indirectly took a shot at Bucks general manager John Hammond, assistant general manager Jeff Weltman and coach Scott Skiles, the three biggest personnel decision-makers in the organization next to owner Herb Kohl.

"We traded a lot of pieces I feel like we should have kept,'' Jennings said. "But that's part of the business and you've got to roll with it.''

He is so referring to Corey Maggette lol

Whilst there's a few games left, most likely that both the Bulls and Spurs wrapped up top seeds today.

Pretty much.

Lakers looked a decent chance but losing back-to-back hasn't helped.

Will be interesting to see who gets the No.2 seed in the East, with the Celtics and Heat dead even at 54-23.

Current Top 4 in the West looks set, and probably the order as well.

Am I the only one who isn't sold on Chris Mullin's HOF entry?

Tbh I always find it hard to judge because it's a general basketball hall of fame, and not specific to the pros or NBA.

Seriously, if someone like Dick Vitale can make it, how can Mullin be left out?

Tbh I'd prefer it if they had a separate NBA Hall of Fame, which would make it easier to decide as to who's worthy and who isn't.

Heat loss & Knicks win re-jig the standings in the East a bit, if it finishes like that we have a Celtics-76ers & Heat-Knicks series - I'm pretty certain both the Celtics and Heat would rather face the 76ers so going to be interesting.

Wonder whether Indy can throw a spanner in the works and jag a couple of wins against the Bulls and make it interesting?

I hope so but doubt it. Hibbert v Noah will be good. I'd settle for a TV game tbh I've seen the Pacers once in 3 years and they got thumped by the Lakers :x

Heat/Knicks will be interesting. NY who can't/won't defend against D-Wade and Lebron while Amare should have an absolute field day against Miami's lack of a decent big man. I can see most games in that series having both teams score 100.

The match-ups in that Indy / Bulls series are a little intriguing tbh, Noah / Hibbert should be good, Deng / Granger even Rose / Collison should be interesting. Don't think Indy has enough depth to seriously challenge, but the starters could keep it interesting....

Anybody see Dwight Howard pick up his 18th tech last night? Came after the refs called a 10 second violation on a free throw attempt. Happened during the Christmas game against Boston as well. Interesting that during both games, an opponent counted to 10 to put pressure on the refs (Paul Pierce and Gerald Henderson):

Wonder how often we'll see that during the playoffs?

I think it's bs that the refs selectively call that violation, but at the same time I think it's brilliant by both Pierce and Henderson to remind the refs of the rule. Should happen every free throw however.

Any lingering doubts that Rose is going to be the MVP have evaporated from my mind - not because I think he is the MVP but after putting up todays showing against the Celtics, there's no doubt all the journalists in the US are going to hand it to him.

Haha.

Just checked onto ESPN. Their headline story.

"Derrick Rose put on an MVP-worthy performance, scoring 30 points to take down the C's in Chicago"

In fairness, the award was decided for him a while ago.

Stan van Gundy has been whining about this for 2 months and I agree with him to a point about Dwight Howard. The MVP award was decided a while ago, I don't like journalists voting but it is what it is.

Tbf in the only game since the trade they have played the Knicks kept the Heat in the 80's. Should be a very good series and like has been said both team would much rather be playing the 76ers, especially with how Melo is going atm.

The Boston or Miami/Knicks or Sixers seedings still in the balance.

After all the talk about LA chasing the Spurs for the No.1 seed in the West, they're only one game ahead of Dallas . Both teams having 3 games remaining.
