Look its no secret that Neils a hard ar*e and that doesnt go down too well with players who could cruise by softly and without effort under Matt Elliot.

If we have to release some soft, whingy, mediocre players to regain our former glory, so be it. If we have to release our most talented player because he wants it all his own way, so be it. If we have to put these guys through the offseason from hell so we can be in the 8 in september SO BE IT.

But I hope Neil isnt doing a Hitler and is into some sort of ethnic cleansing and global domination....;-)

Theres a fine line between "tough" and "crazy" and i dont think neil is flirting with it.

You haveta be tough on the players these days, they're not just being paid to play footy, but to the train the house down.
The harder neil is on them, the more determined for that finals birth they'll be.

Bay I'm not concerned because Danny Weidler is the source. Alf from Home and Away has as much inside knowledge as Weidler - thankfully though Alf is good enough to concentrate on his TV show rather than making up random comments which continually fail to eventuate each week.

Weilder's comments paully are not what conerns me as much as other sources which back it up.

I'm with you on this one, while I hope Neil is just sorting men from boys I hope he does so with tact.

Hold it fellas, Quinny's comment on Gower ending up in Euro union says enough to me.

as stated, he still mucked it up and the gower to euro union was around for months... and even if by some mircle he did come up with one correct and original scoop, gower's still right
weilder is a f**king dribbler

.. what I've been saying dubster ...

nothing wrong with the coach attempting to get the best out of his players but if that same player gives his best at Bruce for the opposition coach we all have the right to be pissed off supporters.

On the other hand we've had quite a few players come out and say they really want to stay at the club and are willing to fight for a chance to get a regular first grade gig here.

There seems to be a real atmosphere of competitiveness with the boys knowing they could be onto something good if they stick together - but yeah, it's a fine line to tread and if the results don't go our way in the first 5-6 rounds I'll fully expect some really negative press.

I was disturbed when I read the article , then thinking more about it , we have let a few players go , who wanted to stay , so I think the negatives could of come from them , also thinking about it Henry is held in so high regard within the QLD SOO team also the Cowboys didnt want him to leave either. so things cant be that bad down south.

Too right. If we end up 1 from 5 everyone will be complaining but on the other hand if we are 3 or 4 from 5 everyone will be lauding Henry and the players will suck it up. No one complains about winning.

If Henry goes, or fails to commit, make a play for Bennet. Top coach, has lived in Canberra before and will bring players with him.

The Raiders need to take a recruitment risk or two, and a high profile coach would be a good start.

T_R you are talking my language ... I'm not sure that Bennet would be my target but something BIG is def what this club requires to gain a notch or two on the credibility stakes.

My first preference is to give Henry a crack for his full 3 year deal, but if worse comes to worse then Bennett would be a decent fit for us. He'd certainly bring a profile and he really started the Green Machine style 20 years ago which is on its way back baby.

There'd certainly be worse options for us, but I can't see it happening unless Henry asks for a release to be honest. He's got another year to run after this one and our club doesn't sack coaches.

Henry will turn the ship around IMO and his success hinges on who he plays in the halves. The rest will come together but the halves are where it will be won or lost for us.

I'm inclined to think Dobson will get first shot but he needs to show more than what he did last year as Campo will be a utility bench player breathing down his neck.

iI believe young David Furner is next in line to coach the Green Machine

... and why not ... a few other Furners have positions at the club ... and what more high profile coach could this club want

More in the papers today , still strong reports of broncos wanting Henry , Henry has come out and said he has 2 years left and in another report McIntyre says he has no plans on losing Henry.
This will be interesting , IMO Henry is the coach to take us up the premiership ladder , he is the one to guide and mould this young team ,

Make no mistake, his going to bring us success.

Just on dobson, i really think he has to lift this season unless he could be headed away from canberra.
