I doubt Carney would go to the Dogs considering they have spent 20% of their cap on SBW and Ryan.

Sharks, Manly and Panthers are a concern but all we can do is wait and see what happens. IMO, Carney will only sign a two year deal that will conicide with the expiration of Henry's contract.

my mail is Dogs/Sharks

Dogs released/ lost o'meley, mason and sherwin last year, ryan ain't worth that much they are suppose to have close to a mil and are forward paying contracts this to get it up to 1.3 mil for next year 2009

a contract....
I will start worrying when get out clauses get mentioned.

Seriously now if someone wants to leave, piss them of straight away cut the cancer out and stop the infection, that's what i do at my work when people hand in there resignation, i walk them off the premises straight away, and get hr to pay out including two weeks notice, it's not worth the bad morale and productivity levels dropping, and if the raiders management where compentent they would do the same.

Which is what worries me the most it's all them talking and not henry, But if henry came to them they would release him you don't want you're contracted players getting nervous or upset with a coach that doesn't care and wants to be booted to get out.

The Dogs shelled out 350k per season for him and IMO, he was worth 275k tops. The Dogs have around 800k tied up in two players so fitting the other 23 in at 3.2 million will be a challenge.

Folau is on their radar but if you are Carney, do you want to go to the Dogs? They have massive internal rumblings and are a shadow of the team they used to be.

My mail say's folkes is gone this is coming from a foundation kennel member, who was awarded by them for their work last year at there celebration game in front of everyone.

Should give you a clue very good friend, and goes there nearly every week, they do have saved up about 760k they are using it this year to pay forward contracts and will be cutting some players, they hope to get to 1.3 mil per year saved.

Are going to bid on three to four players, half, back and centre/wing x 2 remeber elmasri is leaving at the end of year and i know he is on only 150k plus bonus per year know.that just goes to show there pulling power still.

They will be offering three year deals as to not conflict with current deals namely sbw

I have heard Carney has been offered 380k performance based

If i was any seriuos player i would stay away but money talks

I have been looking for a reason Neil might want to join Brisbane, and I cant think of a good one.

I'm not knocking the Broncos, they are a elite club with awesome support and resources. But, they are a tall poppy.
I think Neil is happy here.

The man came out in the Canberra Times two days ago and said "I'm contracted till 09 and would like to try for more". He doesn't strike me as the type to do half a job and he has been givien a start by the Raiders, I think that is important to him.

Everyone is talking about the Broncos like you can walk into a premiership. Sure they have talent and marketability. But every team has to go through the highs and lows. How long does Lockyer have left? What about the other players? The Broncos with out Webke last year and now no Bennett will have to rebuild. Not an easy job.

Probably an easier job than ours ??

The Graham Hughes radio show in Sydney has apparantly revealed in an interview with Bruno Cullen that while the Broncos would love to have either Henry or Bellamy (in fact they are the 2 coaches they would target if off contract) that the Broncos wont do to another club what the Roosters tried to do to them.

Apparantly Daniel Anderson is the favourite.

Is Bruno trying to imply that the Broncos are above such underhanded dealings? I hate the Roosters with a passion, but.......

I seem to recall Anthony Mundine being paraded around in Broncos jumper whilst still under contract to St George in 1996, the same year they encouraged Tallis to sit the year out from the same club.

I actually think this whole Neil Henry thing is a huge positive for the club.

a) it shows he's in high demand by arguably the most successful team in the last 20 years,
b) he has reiterated time and again that his passion and ambition is to stay with the Raiders, and
c) it shows other players what the potential benefits could be of coming to Canberra - especially young Queenslanders.

I think it's great that noobs like Elliott and Folkes haven't been mentioned in the media regarding the Broncs because it means nobody gives a rats arse about them. If that doesn't tell Mr Carney something then I don't know what will.

For mine it's Henry to stay and TC to sign a 3+1 year contract by round 1.

Ronnie,

that was under the Porky Morgan regime, and he was an ar*ehole of a man. It was tools like Morgan and Ribot that birthed SL and made the Broncos the most arrogant hated team in the land. Bruno seems to be a bit more down to earth and humble.

Chachi,

I to think the Henry exposure can be positive but I think its constant play in the media may make the players a little nervous. I'm sure that Neil has reinforced his commitment to them privately.

It is good to see that the likes of Folkes, Brown, Elliot have been ignored. We all know they suck. I hope Todd sees that as well.

Mate Folkes has done well at the bulldogs actually, he has brought in good players ,
wouldnt mind folkes if Henry went and we couldnt get bellamy or Bennett.
I hope Bennett comes down to the raiders and we can have two head coaches again

The Raiders have made it known to the Broncos that Henry will not be leaving the ACT until his contract has expired. They are absolutely adamant on the issue. Unless there is a huge change of heart brewing somewhere Henry will NOT be the Bronco's coach.

The Broncos are looking elsewhere, and there are some very radical options being floated.
