A rowdy crowd of 12,099 watched the NSW Swifts defeat the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic 65-56 in the grand final at Acer Arena while next door, at ANZ Stadium where the Bulldogs played for the first time since their star Sonny Bill Williams walked out on the club, the grandstands were virtually empty - only 7802 fans showed up.

Add to that no SBW for the dogs so little chance of winning, it's on a Monday night FFS and it was cold, windy and rainy. I'm surprised 7800 showed up TBH... I thought they'd be lucky to get 5k.

I'm sure netball doesn't think it's about to take over as the premier winter sport in Sydney because their GF had more people at it than an NRL game played on a god-awful night at a god-awful stadium.

What a storm in a teacup! The weather was C-RAP last night, the Bulldogs were a near certainty to get rolled, and Saints fans have made their feelings very well known about their temporary home. Only a handful more games before they go back to Kogarah, thank goodness.

To be perfectly fair we had FREE entry.

Regardless... there were so many mitigating factors for such a poor crowd. We know as Bulldogs fans how all this feels... stuff like the SBW nonsense would keep people away who aren't as committed as us.

Also to be fair. It is disappointing that on top of the SBW drama and player injuries the Bulldogs have had to endure, that the ABC call team were laughing suggesting the Dogs were lucky to score zero! Some compassion please!
