John Howard and Mark Bouris are the 2 best suggestions I've seen in this thread.

Howard has contacts, he has sway with politicians (think funding for grounds) and he spent years making tough decisions that he was being judged on.

Sorry, but Howard is not CEO material. He wouldn't go near the job anyway.

If he was ever going to get a start, it would have been in John Grant's role as head of the ARLC.

Men are more capable of being cold, calculated, and emotionless. In other words... business minded.

It's biologically harder for females to do this.

I disagree. I've worked with plenty of females who are cold, calculated, and emotionless. They are what people call 'a miserable bitch'. There are plenty of females in the world like this.

This is exactly the type of female I wouldn't want in the job. I'd rather a creative woman with a personality, not some miserable bitch.

Katie Page is an example of a creative woman with personality.

One thing the game does need to do is better engage women. We have started going better (Women in League Rounds etc)

The NRL constantly tries to do this, and has been successful to some degree. This is the exact reason why I started this thread.

on a serious note, GK or Katie Page would be interesting selections

GK - Gail Kelly? If so, she'd never take the $10m pay cut.

The best person for the job, should always be the person that gets hired, regardless of gender, but I'd be quite happy with a female in the top job, if for no other reason that to attempt to change the perception and reality that the NRl and rugby league is one big boys club.

Mark Bouris is a good choice - kudos to whoever suggested him. Was on the grill team this morning talking about the interest rates & super (very briefly). Have also been to the odd seminar he's presented. Incredibly smart guy but also comes across like an everyday guy and very grounded. Loves his footy as well. Not sure if he would be bothered to do the job though.

Bouris is undoubtedly a successful businessman and is also comfortable in front of the camera, which is a bonus but I think we need to go with someone with successful sports administration experience.

I don't think Bouris would go near the job but I think he'd be exceptionally good at it. I don't know why it has to be someone with a sports admin background, he has the business backround (one of the best in the country) and the positive public profile that would be great for the game. He's someone that people feel is trustworthy and honest, something Gallop failed miserably with.

That's why I said he wouldn't go near the job. He earns way more than the NRL could offer him and he owns the business he runs.
