Gotta laugh at TK and Slater today suggesting Gallop did a great job with minimal resources.

A caller rang in and said "Gallop undersold our TV rights, that's why we have few resources." They hung up on him.

Even Rothfield mentioned today that Gallop undersold the TV rights.

I preferred Slats when his confidence was shot. He is a dribbler of the highest order these days. Can't stand him.

As for CEO, as long as it's not a politician. A fking politician pleasing their stakeholders is the last person you want running the show. Gallop was a political creature.

I assume Grant has someone in mind and hasn't gone off half cocked. Sacking Gallop is only half the job.

I disagree. I've worked with plenty of females who are cold, calculated, and emotionless. They are what people call 'a miserable bitch'. There are plenty of females in the world like this.

Word; and I always seem to date them.

His first press conference would go for 3 weeks.

Bernie Gurr should be the new ARLC CEO - Grant should be on the phone to him in the USA and offer him anything he wants to return to Australia to take up the position.

The next CEO needs to pretty much be the complete opposite to David: extroverted, thick-skinned, gregarious, daring and a bit bombastic.
I'm not having a shot at David either; his personality was good for placating the furor in the game post-super league and stabilizing things. He did a good job. That said, I think his retirement was probably 5 years too late but better late than never.
Judging by how the arlc have handled things thus far, I'd imagine that they are going to take a very hands-on approach to the operating of the game, which is good, they are all proven and savy businesspersons. The next CEO, then, needs to be more the face of the game, pushing it into everyone's faces AFL-style.

Impressive CV. Served as our CEO before quitting about 10 years ago. Still keeps in touch with the game; interesting to note he wrote an article to Phil Gould last year regarding some research into how the NFL managed youth football and weight divisions

Just running Panthers looks like its leading him to an early grave. He'd be dead inside 6 months running the whole of RL!

You have to wonder if the was the ARLC's plan all along. They never wanted him but had to take him to get the deal over the line but as soon as possible they always intended to boot him?

Sounds like the Western Reds attitude towards the ARL.

Here's a potential gun for the job:
