well we shall see how the "mighty dragons" fair in 2005 with their "star studded lineup"

1988/98....16 teams : top 5

2005...15 teams : top 8

I Can't see the Broncos dipping for quite a while. Lockyers only 27,28 and by the time he retires Seymour , Barnes , Hunt , Bott will all be classy players.

they are seldom without 50% representitive players in their roster, so it would be a slack effort if they didn't make it to playoffs

greg...please...i am not going to go thru the rosters of the 89 semis of teams like canberra, penrith, balmain, souths, cronulla (whom bris played in a midweek semi for 5th place)

With Benny's heavy involvement with Origin and his preference for picking players he has coached, it's no surprise that so many Broncos represent.

This has gone a long, long, long way from the original topic of Berrick Barnes.

But the 1988 Broncos came in 6th I think. And Lewis , Miles etc were getting towards the end of their career.

88 brisbane finished 7th behind panthers and tigers who had a playoff for 5th
89 tied for 5th, but smashed by the sharks in the playoff for 5th.

brisbane were not disgraced.
