So, the fact is, if this revelation is indeed factual, it wouldn't matter who the coach was, the problem would still exist and our prospects of playing finals footy and dreaming of a premiership are just that...dreams.
Who would want to be coach of the Dragons, really under these circumstances and may explain somewhat the qualify of applicants we received after Mc85 was pushed/sacked/let go.
Which comes back to the review that was not a review from Gus stating that changing the coach will not change a thing.

That's why I said that Hook likes to control things, but, the young Woolf and Carr guys need to show strength by making sure that they have a say in proceedings. At the end of the day, the outcomes whether they are wins, losses or draws, will be a reflection on Hook and not his assistants. Hook needs to let out some rein and unwind a bit and allow the assistants some latitude which could result in us winning the tight games or any games in fact.
hope your right dave, would love to see young woolf pick big brothers brain, as the younger brother in my family i did it for years

If Ramsey is out for good and Sloan does not step up to the mark in his absence, I'd make a big play for Tom Turbo. He is a match winner and we have the halfback and centers to feed him the ball he needs to do the job. Given we have not spent anything like the money needed to upgrade our squad and given that we have not been able to secure any top-grade forwards, I guess the only answer would be to secure a match-winning fullback like Tom Turbo.
I can guarantee you that whilst we have this coach and our current poor team culture not 1 player manager will let half decent players come anywhere near us

Let's be honest here. I am into my 53rd year supporting the big red V. Since 2012 when we began our slide from being world club champions we have hired the wrong coaches recruited the wrong players retained very few players who showed talent. Our club culture in recent years has become a joke, BBQ, Coffee breaks, players charged with crimes which has continued into this year with Amone. That shows me that the coach has lost the dressing room in the last few years. There is a distinct lack of discipline and this has been reflected in our on field performances in the last few years. We desperately needed two big go forward props this season. We recruited 3 players 2 from last seasons 16th placed team 1 from 15th and another from QCup. It is a well known fact within the RL world that not 1 player manager who has a decent player would recommend to his client to join us. I suggest with this group of still only 25 contracted players we will finish 12th this season and that is extremely hard to say

To be honest Jo, I think that we will continue to descend further into the depths of despair. I've been following the Dragons for over 62 years and for the life of me I just don't understand why the Board members of the joint venture haven't done everything in their power to make this club a standout since our grand final win in 2010?

From Steve Price to Paul McGregor to Anthony Griffin - not much to write home about. Poor recruitment for years, poor culture/discipline, the list goes on. A total clean sweep starting at the top would not go astray. We getting rid of Hook might improve things but there needs a lot more things to be done to get great players lining up to join us.

A monthly get together with several noted player managers and the Board and bigger sponsors might help.

Following this club certainly is frustrating nowadays.

Cheers and thanks for your contribution Jo.

Yes I agree and if we can see the demise of a once proud and feared club you would like to believe that those in powers of authority could also see it but alas club politics has not helped our cause. The selection for the Charity Shield is baffling to say the least and I don't like the Hunt/Mbye combination especially since even Mbye was quoted as saying that he had no permanent designs to hold that position. I believe South's will exploit the defensive weaknesses in our halves an unfortunately we may get a good old fashioned touch up. It's so very sad

Examples of time and time again is an interesting take on it.

Taking into account Sloan's own recent admissions and the fact that Bud suffered injuries at critical times who are the players who were unjustly not selected?

Well for one seeing as you mentioned his name, Bud. He was put on the back burner while our coach was busy drawing up a contract extension for Corey Norman. Ring any bells??

Hook is an old style coach who runs the show. His assistant's are there in position only. These types of coaches run the show with no intervention or input from the so called assistant coaches this has been quite obvious over the last two years. Nothing will change this season until our continual demise will cause the removal of Griffin

Ok let’s agree that there is some credence re Bud albeit injuries still play a role in his slow development even now.

But 1 player is not a litany.
