Ok let’s agree that there is some credence re Bud albeit injuries still play a role in his slow development even now.

But 1 player is not a litany.
Fair play. Let’s hope he has some better luck re injuries this year and we get to see more of him and our other rookies. I believe we have the makings of a competitive team provided Hook lets them play a more attacking style footy than has been on show since his tenure as coach so far.

Just checked what Curtis Sironen's deal is with St Helens (signed to end of 2023) and if I was a recruiter at the Dragons, I would definitely be seeing if he could join our club from 2024. His overall play is very good in both attack and defence in my opinion as shown in his two games in Australia these past two weeks against us and Penrith. He will be 30 in July 2023 so still reasonable in age. He has talent and plenty of experience and to me is not a has been.

Maybe @BLM01 or someone in the know can shed some light on our current roster update. Hearing the train and trial players were being told today whether they had been promoted or are now part-time. Also, although only chinese whispers, heard Savelio Tamale has been given a Development contract?

I hope you are right. I've seen him in action if and it's a big if he can adapt to RL he could be just as good if not better than young Suali is at Easts.

No light from me except i am having Top 30 - Russell, Cook, Lobb, hooker Finau, Stewart,
Development additions. Sav, Herring,
Next up - AJ, Egan

Care to explain why you chose these players?

My thoughts,
Russel - clearly showed good energy and technique.
cook - no idea
Lobb - outside back cover with long term development potential
Hooker Finau - speed and creativity from dummy half. Young but good backup hooker and long term prospect
stewart - needs work, especially under high ball jumping (and he is so short he needs to jump at times), but has potential. Could see him at winger or fullback. Worth developing this year and then deciding how he fits in.

I like both the development options, though I’m tempted with Herring to fast track in case we get injuries.

I still wish we could recruit 1 high quality middle or even edge forward

The problem we have is our young juniors coming through our pathways program are really ready to step up. We need to only be looking at those who are ready and if there is a void, identify it and chase hard for a ready-made recruit.

Each season we gamble on this or that player coming good, even though they are not good as yet. We have for a long time needed someone clever in recruitment/pathways not an old boy wanting a job.

I forgot to throw at least 1 of the couches in the mix
I chose on what I know and have seen and where the club seems to be heading for reggies / depth and future.
I am not saying the older ones will be all tegular Top 17 with longerterm contracts
You will note I have not left any room for an outside purchase straight into our Top 17? or 25 either

Does anyone know what Millard is doing & if anyone replaced whatever Flanno was supposed to be doing?

From the outside looking in it seems an absolute shambles. I.e. standard Dragons footy. Would love some official clarity provided.
Millward is involved with overseeing Junior pathways
Ben Haran is running recruitment ATM

Just seen on the Web Bateman is playing with the Tigers , I didn't know he signed with them ...... Like him as a player , another one that's gone that our lot didn’t want ......
Yep. The Tigers even paid (or reported to have paid) a significant transfer fee to secure his services. We don't like doing those sort of deals. We just sign has beens and journeymen.
