It is hard to figure. We lose:
Sims
Maguire
McCullough
Moga
Gosiewski
Faamausil
Kerr
Fuimaono

Then we buy Liddle at an economical price and apparently don't have cap space to buy David Fifita or a top-of-the-line edge forward to replace Sims.
Isnt it just. The mind boggles as to how this club managed to mess up our salary cap. Who is the boss of our R/R people.

What we most need is a big bullocking prop that can bend the line and pop offloads. Franklin Pele would have fitted the bill but our R/R mob were asleep at the wheel or on sedatives. Is George Burgess past it as some are saying as he is one big unit and when at his fittest can provide good impact.

So typical of the our mob of
Imbocilic morons. No drive, no knowledge of what is happening in the market.
Let's all sit around and just wait for pay day. What a total disgrace this management team is.

you would hope that Burgess with a full off season to reach fitness would be able to take sharons bench spot and this as you said would give us impact .. Lets hope his distractions are behind him and he can focus on his footy

Like I have posted I can see no indication he played Ressies this year. So suspecting it was Flegg but there are no stats to back up that comment. You think Gould would sign a dud. His scouts would've done their homework on the big fellar.
and thats where you think Flanno would have known about his "potential" and signed him for us

Flanno is Pathways manager isnt he. So not his call on Firsts/NSW Cup recruitment. Perhaps R/R manager figured Pele was not worth it at this stage of his career, having not been able to break into Sharks Firsts. His size alone, 120k should have told him he had potential to be a damaging line breaker for us down the track as no doubt Gould has.

Kikau has a breather and Pele takes his place to bulldoze through the opposition's defence. ☹️ 😠

Reports yesterday from Buzz that McCullough wants to play on and Saints are pushing for him to retire. He is not budging. He wants to play on so do not discount him remaining as No.9 because we all know Hook will continue to pick him. What a mess this is going to be. Probably some games going on here as Flanno (list manager) probably the one pushing for him to go and Hook is probably telling his best mate to dig his heels.

If Hook goes and a new coach comes in, a lot of this mess may fix itself because their will be no more favourites and Macca won't be guaranteed starting hooker therefore will probably retire. But that doesn't look like happening. Whilst Hook is at the help Macca is No.9. How sad is that, Saints literaly have to push a guy out of the club because the know Hook will pick him just like they did with Norman. Only difference with Norman was his contract was up, if not it would be the same as Macca.

Chammas reported on 100% Footy that there is a meeting on Thursday between Hunt and Saints so we may hear something then whether he stays or not but it looks like he is staying on past 2023.

If Macca is our 9 we are gone.

I think people need to be prepared that in 2023 Hook will be coach, Hunt will be 7, McCullough will be 9, Sullivan will get limited time off the bench and there will be no new signings of any note. We'll essentially be fielding the weakest forward pack in the comp with an ageing halfback and some frustrated but talented young backs who will no doubt be linked with multiple other clubs.
