Richo has become quite the windbag.I think he under estimated the difficulty of turning around the Concord train wreck. This is the toughest gig he has ever had & I’m starting to think it’s beyond him
I don't know, I think we are only a few players away (and he has basically acknowledged that) from getting a respectable squad together, if we could've kept our original starting squad together I think we'd in a different position, but we are lacking depth badly.

The big worry for me, is Benji, some of his decisions have been poor, e.g giving the squad a week off bc of the bye, some of his bench moves are weird as well. Somethings have been good though, hopefully he is learning.
But someone said it earlier, he has all the hallmarks of the Sheenius.

Hey RICHO, where are the new signings you promised a month ago.

Some criticism of the guy. Thank f**k.

I don't think he has been bad at all but that tough talk and not backing it up annoys me. We were screwed with Galvin and Stef and him and his big mouth made our team look stupid.

Just keep your mouth shut and get shit done.

Our squad is pretty good. We lack some middle forward depth and we really need a quality edge forward. On the edge forward issue the big problem to me is Samuela is simply not having an impact on the game offensively at all. We need Samuela to be an elite edge forward and he was close to that last season but he isn't having the same impact.

The bid worry for me, is Benji, some of his decisions have been poor, e.g giving the squad a week off bc of the bye, some of his bench moves are weird as well. Somethings have been good though, hopefully he is learning.

I don't know about Benji. I don't see signs he is killing it but I'm not sure he is actually part of the problem.

I think our recruitment hasn't been great. Bird and Hunt are barely having an impact in first grade. That is unacceptable. I think we need an impact middle forward like Hunt but it's like he is only good for 2 quality runs every couple of weeks. That is unacceptable to me. Bird isn't having an impact and he is making some mistakes as well.

Luai hasn't been great. I'm sort of okay with Luai at this point but we are overpaying him based on his output. I think though he can be a part of turning this team around and hopefully this season around.

May has been unreal but that wasn't really pro-active recruitment. We just got lucky.

It’s tough recruiting from a base level that is WT though re desperation. That’s a reality for triple spooners trying to change things.... …Steff and Galvin didn’t get recruited so that WAS lucky but luck happens and we will take it. If we had parted with $$$ for them then perhaps we should dwell on it

I agree. I think the recruitment was pretty good. I'm not sure how much was completely under Pascoe/Sheens etc though.

Turuva, Skelton, May are all quality recruits.
I think Luai can help turn this team around but we are paying him top dollar and he hasn't been great. I still think he may turn into a quality recruit.
Hunt and Bird haven't been good at all.

It was actually better they left but that is a worry in itself.

I just hear way too many positive comments about the guy and I get extremely skeptical of guru based thinking.

For me, centre and FR are req'd asap.
The knights SR possible signing has gone quiet.
But better players are needed in a few areas.

We need forward depth plus a marquee forward or two. Ideally I'd like an impact prop and a gun edge backrower.

I'm not sure about the centres. To'a is a weapon. Doueihi isn't a threat but he can kick goals and his defense hasn't been crud. I think we'd be better off with another option there but I think we have options without going to market.

We have Turuva (Staines can play on the wing) plus Luke Laulilii plus Makasini plus Faataape & Naden as back-ups. I think we are pretty well covered in that position and I'd rather focus on forwards.

I was more thinking about our lack of depth, I'm not totally unhappy with our squad, but we need more competition in a couple of positions.
I did forget to put Makasini in. By all accounts he will be a gun. Agree with To'a, but he has been injury prone since he's been here.

I was more thinking about our lack of depth,

I reckon our depth in the outside backs is unreal. This is our cup team backline this week.

1. Luke Laulili'i

2. Charlie Staines

3. Solomona Faataape

4. Brent Naden

5. Izaac Tu'itupou

I'd have 1-4 above Doueihi for everything apart from goal kicking. There is a massive difference between To'a and all our other options but maybe LL and Makasini will be as good or better than To'a.

I'd still go for Junior Tupou on the right dollars but that is also about covering players leaving.

Will be a gun I’d luv to have a $ for every time I’ve heard that & it hasn’t come to fruition. The kid has done nothing up to this point & is yet to play against adults.Improving the squad to where we need to be to become a seriously decent side where we are in the top 8 regularly is going to be a very difficult task.We are up against a cashed up Perth & then PNG plus we can’t compete with clubs with wealthy benefactors like the dogs & rorters for the std of player we desperately need. With the squad we currently have the coaching staff & deluded Richos windbag comments Im not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel.

I agree, he would have been better not saying anything.
I reckon the CEO's chair has a spell on it. Every CEO we've had makes either dumb or irrational quotes.
So far Richo has stated that we have the best spine in the comp....well we all know that was a bit over the top and how did that turn out.
He stated that LG is not going anywhere and we're not releasing him. Could have been for legal reason, I don't know.
Then he quotes all of these new signings. Nothing but crickets.
Maybe he was confused with our recent great NRLW signings.
I still think Richo is the man but I hope he doesn't buckle and end up like the previous administrators.

Neither am I TT. We need to find out who supports the Tigers in the business / celebrity world, find out how much money each of them have, and if they'd be willing to stump up any in the form of TPA's.

As far as I know we currently have none. The rorters, broncos, storm, and dogs all have multiples. Not sure about Penrith but then again they appear to be playing by the rules, much to their current detriment.

If we can't get a rorting system in place we aren't in the same sport as the big guns, as far as managing our cap goes and we can't expect year on year success.

That's step 1 only. There are many more to implement before we have winning seasons almost every year. If Richo isn't tying to set this up then he isn't the man for the job. Of course, we'll never know if it's being done as it's completely illegal.

Otherwise, we'll win a comp out of nowhere once every 50 to 100 years. If that.

I know there is all this criticism at management over the years but I reckon it comes down to 2 things:-

1. A development system that doesn't produce enough quality players. This is on management but it's also a longer term thing and point 2 probably helps out here as well.
2. Not rorting the cap like other clubs.

We need to have our finances in place (i.e. rort) like the top clubs.

As a side topic how crap are Brisbane. They get both of these things right and they still aren't great.

Yeah, not happy with Harry, I think he's in the top ten richest people in Australia. Can't he spare 0.2% for the Tigers :D

People laugh at the Tigers, and it's hard not to I guess, but over the last 20 Brisbane have been the biggest failures in any sport in the world.

The Tigers are one of 9 teams in Sydney fighting it out for support, money, and juniors.

Brisbane basically have the whole of South East Queensland to themselves. Massive amounts of juniors. Massive money and TPA's. Always on free to air TV and the massive commercial opportunities that brings. Always on a Friday night making it an easier schedule and having one extra home game a year than every other team. A cheaper cost of living that inflates their salary cap even more. The climate making it more attractive to players.

And if I think on it some more I can probably come up with even more benefits.

And despite all this they haven't won a comp in 19 years. They should be winning every 5 years at the absolute outside.
