He was an assistant with us under Cappy - and apparently an assistant now at Penrith.

The new Daniel Anderson. It's 2001 all over again. We are literally starting at the bottom.

If he can steal some Panthers talent he is well worth the initial investment.

Assistant here in 15-16, not our finest years.

Also said he had a great CV and that Webster is “ecstatic”. FMD. Course he’s over the moon. He was on zero others potential coaches list

Another understudy at a high performing club.
We have seen how that has ended before. Always hope to be wrong.
To be fair, it could go either way - may be another Kearney, or could be a similar successful step up from assistant to head coach like what we've seen at the Sharks this year (and Payten is hitting his stride at the Cowboys too).

Honest truth is we don't have the mana inside the NRL to scoop an existing top head coach, so we have to look at assistant coaches from decent clubs that wanna take a step up - and hope they've gleaned enough from those systems to bring out the best in the Warriors squad.

Interesting that he's been the attack coach at the Panthers. Would be great if he can unlock the attacking power that's in the squad, as there's been plenty of chances bombed this year.

Barrett was the attacking coach too

despite George”s spin, we have a mediocre squad at best, Penrith’s attack is ore about the awesome talent they have

The mail I’ve heard is that Woolf was offered everything he could ask for, was very keen and ready to go, then he met Robinson and was left cold

There is a lot of prestige about the assistants coming out of Melbourne, Roosters and now Penrith. Success coming out of there is few and far between though in reality, it is really about hitting the right squad at the right time and getting a flying start in the first couple of years. You don’t find out if you’ve got what it takes to move from assistant to the top job until you’re in the hot seat and it is sink or swim

We are going to find out if he can coach.

But won't have to do much with the stacked squad we have!🤥🤥🤥
