Kiwi's don't like making money. Got it
NZR makes 190 Million a year, WTF are you talking about?

Revenue or profit?! Super rugby gotta be an expensive development system
Imagine playing half the year in a comp that is only there to provide players for internationals..
This is the reality of 80 percent of Super Rugby players who don't even make the international teams .
Making an NRL team is a massive deal and for the majority of players is the justified pinnacle of their career. There's a Jersey presentation and teary parents in the stands.
Then there's Origin that is next level, then getting your national Jersey.
In contrast there's Union where unless you make the National team, everything means nothing.
Revenue, the whole point of NZR is to develop the game, so they pay out "profit" to the provinces and end up with next to no "profit".
They can just get rid of Aussie teams & run development league at fraction of cost.

No there isn't. As has been pointed out ad nauseam the teams are owned by NZR, furthermore the NRL might be a bigger localised competition but league is tiny in comparison to rugby world wide. And as Te Kaha has pointed out NZ rugby is a top down model where international rugby is key.Not saying it could happen, but there's far more chance kiwi super rugby teams move to the NRL than go the other way. NRL is just so much bigger
Doesn't make sense that trans Tasman comp is set up for solely for development. Not long ago it featured teams from far a field as Africa & Japan. Just a weird take to deflect from declining interest from fans
Back from my walk and everyone appears to be doubling down on the delusion.

For rugby to fail and league to take over in NZ league needs to start out rating rugby on Sky which is pie in the sky stuff.
Of course it makes sense. Super Rugby to give players a comp to play in to get ready for internationals. They set it up quickly to ward off packer when Rugby went professional. Super Rugby Pacific is just following the model.
I think what makes International Union so successful is that Union is equally lame everywhere and thus competitive.Back from my walk and everyone appears to be doubling down on the delusion.

Who cares and why is it relevant? Which International League Comp makes more money that the six nations? or the World Cup? both are pointless and irrelevant.Which domestic rugby competition anywhere in the world makes more money than NRL?!
It makes no sense at all. Which other sport outlays such cost to merely develop players for representative side?! Could simply pull out of super rugby & save millions. I don't ur thinking straight
Sports teams buying franchises in other sporting codes is a trend you’re going to see a whole lot more of. Anybody who thinks otherwise is ignorant.
I think what makes International Union so successful is that Union is equally lame everywhere and thus competitive.
For instance if Union was as popular as League in Australia, Australia would dominate and Internationals wouldn’t have as much interest.
The success of the All blacks from such a small country show is testament to that.
Australia has 5 Super Rugby clubs that have less support than the Newtown Jets and they're competitive internationally.
Union has a " big event " impact internationally. The same way " walking " gets an audience at the Olympics.
Who cares and why is it relevant? Which International League Comp makes more money that the six nations? or the World Cup? both are pointless and irrelevant.
Rugbys strength is its internationals. That's why its done. SKY TV pays most of its money for the All Blacks. NZR makes most of its money from the All Blacks. All the international sponsorship NZR gets is for... wait for it.. The All Blacks.
Just because you cant understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.
Real Madrid are a perfect example
I didn't claim that at all. This is what I said - "league is tiny in comparison to rugby world wide."Which domestic rugby competition anywhere in the world makes more money than NRL?!
