Yes, I am that desperate, you said 50% of the comments were bagging league...can you find 125 comments please? Or even 1 would do.
I love that you think if anyone bags union they must be Aussies, it's a NZ website, the comments are from NZers who think Super Rugbt is rubbish.

Yet again you're making up more baloney.
You remind me of a boxer who's been hit in the head so many times they don't know how badly they're loosing.

If you think NZ Rugby has the money to fund a fully professional domestic comp and be able to compete with the money on offer from Europe, Japan and Australia...as we say in Australia...you're dreaming:D

Except they already are dumbarse. 200 million in income last year, held a womans world cup that had the two biggest sports viewership totals in NZ, with over 25% of the population watching. When was the last time a League game got 25% of the Australian population watching, or ever got it? They even had the ability to wear the loss from staging the world cup from cash held over from the previous year.

That explains why that argument or should I say slanging match went on for three pages - and still no winner !!
I loved the list of aphorisms from the Denver surgeon, very amusing, you could swap the pig one for " never get in a pissing competition with a skunk" though, I wonder if that was Mark Twain. lol.

You're correct I am a "dumbass' as you so eloquently put it, so I'm happy for you to correct me, didn't NZ Rugby need a cash injection from private equity to help them financially ? And then post a 47 m loss in 2022 with a similar loss expected in 2023 ?

Making shit up again... why bother when you can see the actual facts in the annual report? And it was Dumbarse, not dumbass.. I know you Aussies like to think you are Americans.. but come on.

And given there isn't a World Cup in NZ there wont be the loss next year.
What kind of muppet would make that kind of shit up? Don't answer, it was rhetorical, It's plain to see what kind you are.

Thank you for setting me straight ( without any evidence as per usual)

I'll ignore all the doom and gloom in the Nz and Australian Rugby media, I'll ignore the Super Rugby crowds slipping away into oblivion and I can sleep easy knowing everything is rosey in Rugby land because an unhinged lunatic on a Rugby league forum told me so :)

I pointed you to the Annual report you idiot. If you aren't smart enough to find that, its not my fault.
Since you aren't smart enough to find it, it's here. https://www.nzrugby.co.nz/assets/NZ...rmance-and-Audit-Report-31-Dec-2022-FINAL.pdf

And once again for the simple on here, and by that i mean you, Super Rugby has very little relevance to anything. Internationals make up most of the TV money, not domestic. I can understand why you don't get that, with the incredibly poor International League growth over the last 50+ years.

Australian League only cares about Australian League, and that includes the fans.

A 47m loss in 2022 ! YIKES !! Haemorrhaging that amount of money you have to wonder how long the NZRU can stay afloat?

Only an idiot has to wonder. Or someone who can't read. Which one are you?
You're right, I didn't read it properly, NZRU didn't make a loss OF 47 m they made a loss of OVER 47 m !!! Ouch #sinkingship

"New Zealand Rugby has reported a financial loss in 2022 of over $47 million."

Hahahaha that's all you have to cling to... not the near 50% increase in revenue.. or the massive ratings for the world cup... or the fact that Super Rugby is of little relevance to the state of NZ Rugby... but keep clinging to it... if it makes you feel better.

Can you explain how NZ can keep thier players without the pathways super rugby provides ?
How many teams and what would the cap be in a domestic comp ?
See if you can put together a complete sentence in your response.... ask your primary school teacher if she can help you.
I've been avoiding posting in this thread as a it's a clusterfudge of the same articles and videos being reposted multiple times and most of you are hellbent on ignoring anything you disagree with even when it's facts, but I'll answer this one for you in good faith assuming you asked in good faith.

NZR would keep the players the exact same way they do now. Each player gets an NZR contract which includes any NZ selection, Super and a portion of their NPC.

If NZR went to a domestic comp only not much would change from a player payments and pathways point of view, except the Super portion would just go to the NPC team. My home province Hawkes Bay has about 20 Super contracted players who would get the bulk of their money from NZR and the rest are paid via the province.

I think they'd probably look at 10 teams, but NZR is a union so they might have a fight with some unions if they try to exclude them. The cap would probably only exist in keeping the provinces competitive as the bigger money would be earned by players through their NZR contracts - essentially the same as now.

Facts are facts, 47 million loss is a 47 million loss no matter how you try and sugar coat it.

Finally, someone that speaks sense.

If Super Rugby collapsed the money Sky pays for the rights would stop ? So players would be paid Less than they are currently ?

The current All Blacks are paid well but what about the next generation of All Blacks who arent paid handsomely for playing internationals ? What's stopping Europe from offering them big money like they do to Fijis talented youngsers ?

That was already paid for by retained money from the previous year.

The current All Blacks are paid well but what about the next generation of All Blacks ? Assuming there is less money and more players to pay in a domestic comp surely NZRU will struggle to match the big money offered from Over seas ?

Except none of that will happen. Of course you aren't smart enough to read the annual report and figure that out... but here you go
