You are talking about the exception rather than the rule (for the NRL).

Less than a few % of players have made it to NRL level being shorter than 5'9 or so.

You are definitely talking about the exception rather than the rule for the NRL. For football, you can definitely be short and it can be on occasions be beneficial.

The debate is only central to the real top athletic talent. There are only the very few who have the athletic makeup to be a top line player in say both basketball, NRL and soccer etc. You would be over 6’5, quick and powerful. If you are over 7ft for example, you are likely to be too slow to play football or NRL

Sad to see Rob Borrow going through mnd . He was carving up the Kangaroos and a legit migit.
Legend.
Allen Langer...
We could do this all day but we're just lucky basketball wasn't popular when they were running around or they would have been scooped up by the NBA 😳
Side note.. I bet even they played basketball as a kid..
Almost as if bouncing a ball and throwing it into a net is fun...🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

yeah but 6'4'' is tall in NRL, it's shorter than average in pro basketball and not many people in the population are taller than 6'4'', maybe a few %?

its a huge limitation for Basketball, especially if kids are having fantasies of playing in the NBA...

Exactly.

That was pretty much the point about the basketball thing.

There wouldn’t be many that would be a) tall enough and b) quick and powerful enough to both play NRL and be a top line basketballer.

It would be a particularly low percentage.

Gridiron would be the one that I would be more concerned about.

Luckily the way they went with Gridiron, it's an extremely expensive and hard to coordinate such a large group!

Who else is thinking that te kah and great dane are the same person?

You really are stupid.. Stupid on a whole new level.

Its a fact, something you don't know anything about, that In the last ten years Juniors for contact sports have plummeted in numbers in NZ. League more so than ANY other sport here. At the same time Basketball numbers have gone up even more. It only takes someone with more than half a brain to realise that you are talking though your arse.
Basketball is now the second most prefered sport of PI and Maori school kids in NZ behind Rugby, and the numbers are rising.

So you can believe what you like, but facts are true whether you believe them or not.

I'm replying just to let you know that I couldn't be bothered reading your post.
It's just too long, I can only deal with brain farts in small short bursts.

When faced with facts that's what you resort to...

On another note, if you are having these constant "brain farts", perhaps you should see a doctor.

NAS and te whare say hi

the only body shape suited for union and not league is those really fat forwards eg Matt dunning
NAS wouldn’t be especially tall as an RU lock. Some of the real beanpoles wouldn’t really work as league players, nor sone of the really big (not necessarily fat) props. Some of those guys are 130kg+, they’re built like powerlifters.

Being super tall is a disadvantage in league but the opposite in union
