The only relevance being it will be better for NZR since it's one less team that will be able to "buy" players. Not that it matters a hell of a lot, Japan and France still are able to.
It's just the end result of the sudden shift to Pro Rugby, the clubs will have to learn to live within their means. It also shows that NZR had the right idea and and controlled the entire game in NZ. They pay the players meaning none of the SR clubs will ever be in real financial trouble, no need for a salary cap and they can pay the top players whatever they think they are worth.

Japan seem to be doing ok, All of their teams are owned and run by multinational corporations, and their national team is improving every year.
