It was a Friday night in Wellington.
You were right, I had no idea about NZ sporting market and now that I'm here I can see the appetite for NRL is far greater than I thought! NZ needs another team yesterday!
I spent the night talking to this made Warriors supporter late night and she was telling me about her passion for QLD! Even state of origin is big here!

Im here in Wellington, it's a shit load bigger than Townsville! Easily support a Rugby league team and that’s not including the Hutts. No corporate support? It's a capital city you moron.

Ur fast becoming the Perth red of kiwi bids. Never happen tho

There is no corporate support for another NRL team. It's one of the many reasons the NZ2 is dead.

I watched the sr final last night at a pub here Wellington. I was hanging out with 2 kiwi union blokes. They kept complaining about all the penalties, I asked them what 1 of the penalties was for and they said they didn't know and most of the time they don't know what they are for. They hate the trys from mauls too. The kicking war wasn't appreciated either. So basically 80% of the game isn't enjoyable.
There was a better atmosphere for the Warriors game.

A bit off topic mate but do you think Shaun Stevenson will sign for an NRL club next season after being snubbed by the all blacks?

Doubtful, New All Blacks coach means the end of the Foster Error. But after watching him the last few weeks... I can see why he wasn't picked. He has the skills, he is just soft.

Maybe but you’ve got to factor in his age(26) and the fact that there’s a new wave of younger players coming through on top of the players currently in front of him.

plus he flew to WB’s farm and had a meeting with him and to the best of my knowledge is yet to sign a new contract which runs out in the autumn of this year.

There are always new players, depends what he wants. If he want's to be an AB he will stay, if he wants to chance his arm in the NRL he will go. I don't see it happening myself though.

If he was 4-5 years younger I would probably agree with you but I just don’t see him starting for the all blacks anytime soon.

I think it’s 60/40 that he’ll sign for the dolphins.
