Yep RL through SOO is the only sport that can get min 48k in each of the 5 main capitals in Australia.

80k in Sydney & Melbourne
60k in Perth
52k in Brisbane
48k in Adelaide

No other sport has done this

Perth will be team 18 Donkey boy , an almost universal opinion & yes , playing origins & club games there for the last 10 years has been part of that entry stategy
they'll be announced as team 18 , next year ... & enter in 2026

they'll be no additions in the life of the TV deal 2028-2032
teams 19 & 20
NZ2 & Brisb3
will be announced around 2030 , for entry in 2033

Adelaide is a long way off
but we will gladly take their $$ for Origins & maybe a club game or 2 til then

No they aren't, there hasn't even been a single mention of it by the ACC. Like everything else you post in this thread, it's all in your head.

"they can't sign the origin game up quick enough" is now changed to "there is no rush".. you could at least get your fairy tales in line, consistency has never been your strong point, but still that's an easy thing to do.

I'm starting to think that we should scrap the idea of NZ2 for a decade or two and fund a QLD cup style competition over there instead. I have no idea how much it would cost, but say a salary cap for an NRL team each year, would that be enough or overkill?

The 2 ideas aren’t mutually exclusive but a NZ Cup on the same level as NSW/QLD Cup should definitely be a goal. Even if they start at 6-8 teams and try and get more as time goes on.

Build up PNG Digicel Cup as well and have a knockout comp featuring teams from all 4 comps.
