My main contention with handing Perth one of the next three NRL licences is it will come at the expense of a more deserving candidate and drain the talent pool.

I'm not convinced that a Perth-based team will generate stronger crowds and more revenue from football operations than NZ2 and Brisbane 3.

A Perth-based team will not generate as many active fans and talent for the NRL as Brisbane 3, NZ2 and PNG.

A consortium of ballsy businessmen with strong broadcast and/or streaming partners could really make a go of a smaller league at the moment, especially if all involved didn't let ego take over and lived within their means.

And who's fault is it that WA struggles to produce much talent or many fans? You've trapped them in a catch 22 of your own creation and are using it's existence to maintain it. At that point it's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
