? Are you suggesting there's any falsehood to my statement?
Didn't think so.
Our countries destruction has ramped up , homelessness is at record levels, depression, suicide, divorce.. have a look at insolvency lately? And inflation persists.. Israel is on the brink of war with Iran ( which will further full petrol prices and inflation)

Yet they have you thinking we're holding an imaginary line in PNG??
a team in PNG will fix thing..
Make

Australia

Great

If the money is allocated in the federal budget that’s when I suspect it’s announced
We’ll know soon enough, the cwealth budget gets presented mid may.

be Interesting if it’s allocated in the budget but nrl isn’t announcing it till end of year?

If it’s announced in the budget that’s letting the cat out of the bag

Jeez, did anyone catch the super rugby crowd at Eden park for the top of the table clash between the blues and the brumbies?

Even the Reds game looked exta sparse.
?? You say that like the Reds historically draw big crowds.

Aren't they playing at smaller venues they have been going that shit crowd wise?

SR in Australia has been in terminal decline since about 2010, this isn't some recent phenomenon.

Time to add NZ2 methinks.

I mean seriously has domestic RU in both Australia and New Zealand ever been so low and NRL been so high?

it would be a colossal blunder not to take advantage of this current state of affairs.

The original South Island bid are still working away, it comes through my fb feed. No big announcements or anything but plenty of small steps, meetings ect.
The Warriors get an Anzac day game this Thursday in front of another bumper crowd.. surely the NRL are at the correct conclusion..?!

Rugby league is notable in Australia and England but we're on the verge of declaring NZ as solid Rugby league heartland. Another team will confirm it.

Not sure because they don’t publish crowd figure especially when they are this shocking but looking at highlights vid probably around 2-3k??

Wow, had a look at those highlights (HaHa) if that`s a top of the table clash that comp has got serious problems. The nature of the tries is woeful, barge over after barge over, probably explains a lot. The only thing they didn`t include in the highlights was the riveting spectacle of someone kicking a penalty goal.

Mate I keep on hearing how we must act now and get another League team in NZ, that`s great, but business heads on, let`s see the financials first, the only thing we`ve heard so far is crowd-funding and that`s beyond funny. We have to see the money or there will be no second NZ team.

The average time of actual ball in play is something like 37 minutes and of that the " highlights " are boring.. imagine paying good money to sit in an empty stadium watching that with no commentary.
Kiwis love Rugby but they are choosing the League flavour.
Another team will kill Super Rugby.

Isn’t there 2 South Island bids ?
Yes . The first 1 hasn't picked a name yet but they put a post on fb that said that it will be announced soon. And the other is the Keys.
Keep in mind that a location hasn't been announced yet, so it the event of that announcement would likely see others added to the list.

They haven't even announced a location yet, so it's a hard sell to get funding or backing for an opportunity that doesn't formally exist..
Once the NRL announce a location, that's when bids will be putting their business cases together.

Alarm bells must surely be ringing now?
