Madge seems to be a better coach in small bursts (kiwis/blues), it tends to be unsustainable over the course of a season and the sheds are lost before too long
He knows how to get the best out of an elite playing group. Mal is the same. Getting players up to that level isn't thier thing.

I'd be embarrassed to have to set up a new account and lie to try to gain credibility on a topic I know nothing about.
Yes so embarrassing! My fake name on an anonymous internet forum has been destroyed. How will I ever restore the integrity of my anonymous made up name 🤣🤣🤣
Do you guys ever leave the house?

People say that

he did win south’s their first comp in 40 years

the story out of south’s was after they had won the gf the team lost disclipline more interested in partying than training hard

Maybe being a disciplinarian is a good thing

Also won Superleague with Wigan. He's an intense guy which not all players can handle but he's clearly an elite coach.

Wests Tigers are the only side he's coached that haven't won anything... but as we can see both before and since his departure, that is more of a West Tigers thing than a Madge thing.

Outside of that...

Wigan - won the SL
Souths - won the NRL
Kiwis - won the Pacific Championship (40-0 in the final against the Kangaroos 😳)
NSW - won his first SOO series

Just a week till bids are closed. Exciting times!

Looking forward to information being a bit more forthcoming soon after that.
If these multiple kiwi bids are good then the first thing is to unify the chch bidders into one strong bid

the interest from other cities is also good as it will have the arlc considering further nz teams

Wellington would be the next one then maybe Hamilton (or if the warriors are doing well a north Auckland team)

Yeah I suppose. 1 was more entertaining than the other and strangely still continues to be as it plagues the thoughts of the weak minded half a year later... amazing!

True but those are just the submissions. Do you think we'll be granted access to the bids before they've made their decision?
If we we're, forums gunna be lit.

There's speculation that announcement on Perth may come soon after bids close, as the Perth + Bears bid is shaping up as a clear choice without the logistical fish-hooks of PNG or the plethora of competing bids that NZ 2 or SE Qld has to weigh-up.

Wouldn't be surprised if there the two announcements "Perth is in for 2027, more on 19/20 later this year" in August, then "ok, here's our thinking on 19/20" in September.

I expect announcements to be made end of sept time to get a load of excitement before or during the finals. They will want to do it whilst NRL is still in season and commanding the headlines. After season it will be a bit of a quiet time for nrl media.

Yeh trying to get the media talking about rugby league when they normally don’t is a bad idea
