New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Yeah that was a crazy period, seemingly kicked off by Kipper Gallagher and Frano Botica. The league convert backline in that era was class, could nearly form an all AB one aside from halfback and would need to put Gallagher back to his earlier position of centre - Brett Iti, Frano, Inga, Schuster, Gallagher, Innes, Ridge.

A few years before that Mark Brooke-Cowden an AB flanker went to league along with Emosi Koloto the Tongan born number 8 who went close tot the ABs.

Hell, even Eion Crossan blagged himself a first grade career. :)

The only thing Crossan ever did in league was being the leading pointscorer for Souths in 1992.

No idea what John Lang saw in him for us to sign him two years later.

Nrl and super rugby got pretty similar aggregate ratings last year

Of course more high ratings content is valuable for sky

Anybody saying sky nz tv deal going down is just ignorant or trolling

Meanwhile more and more kiwis are coming around

Bloke I work with, 21 year old plays front-row in our local Group 3 competition, went down to the GF, told me that he`s been to heaps of Origins but the GF was next level for atmosphere, that`s a big call, but he`s no bull-shitter.

Ah the Paul bros- speaking of ones that got away from the Warriors, letting them go was a tragedy, especially as we got ‘payday’ players like Betts and Platt in return…
Henry Paul was my greatest Kiwi regret, 2nd only to Mark Graham imo. Would have loved to see him in top level footy.

As an aside, what do people think was his best position? He starred at hooker, lock, 5/8, centre and fullback. Could have handled half-back as well imo.

When he was in his early 20's at Wigan he played fullback, centre and standoff and from what I remember he played hooker and bench utility as did Robbie for the Kiwis and was a standout and real handful especially against aussie.

In his early years Henry had a great side step and balance and seemed to just slalom and glide past players in super league.

You've led a pretty sheltered existence, if you think Stadium Australia is the height of sport viewing experience.

A geniune rectangular field like Suncorp, AAMI, Commbank or SFS is 10 times better.

SA is to far from the field, and the seats are pitched to low

No to all three
Not true. League schools in Oz have academies that don't allow the members to play any other sports.

Stadium Australia is such a shit stadium that I don't go there anymore for any matches, I'll make one exception, and that's if the Warriors ever make the GF again, and if we actually win I'll likely drop dead in the stadium from surprise and excitement.

I was at the ground and when this was scored the roosters looked so lost

Then Richard villasante had a brain explosion

Where’s that kind of kiwi talent gone
Playing for the storm unfortunately, atleast we have Ali’s nephew playing for us now out of that lot.
Villasanti then went on to steal shit from his Aus team mates on tour
