New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Other sports see how good that stadium would be for their league
Well, with the Crusaders (Feb-May), the odd RU test match in June/July & Canterbury NPC in August to October, there's a gap from October to February where an A-league team could fit.

I mean, they can't fill ALL that spring/summer time with concerts, trade shows & private bookings, right?

The clubs don’t want a bar of Moffett and if it’s true that Souths Chairman is on an expansion committee of sorts then any bid lead by the man who executed clubs (including Souths) in Moffett has no chance.

But but but.. there's no money lol
Pvl is focused on sorting out Perth bears with png already settled

Then he will be working out how the nz bid goes and imo Moffatts is by far the strongest

That article a week ago where that person from chch was having an emotional rant is turning out to be just that

Agreed. Moffett needs binning considering what he did to the game. Feck him and any morons who support a bid with him in.

Do you have a link or anything of substance to back up this claim?
A link? Lol

You’re kidding right?

Hey Pappas how do you feel about approving a bid lead by the guy who kicked Souths out the comp?

He apparently had the money and still got rejected. Speaks volumes.

Pappas is doing a great job on his own trying to destroy souths

He was responsible for letting Reynolds go, appointing that muppet ceo and behind an ownership dispute between rusty and cannon brooks

And yet they’re still the most famous rugby league brand.

I’m all for NZ2 but Moffett and Searle leading the charge on two seperate bids is crazy. Might as well get Ribot to run the 3rd bid at this stage.

Most things are worth letting sliding, others like completely ramming a bessa block up the games arse and blowing up the very foundation it was built on isn’t one of those things worth letting slide. I know Moffett was working under News Ltd instructions but unfortunately he is the face associated with the mass culling of clubs.

So it's just your personal view, thanks.
It’s not a personal view but do you think people are gonna go on record calling someone a complete f**kwit? People in the game don’t like Ribot but they aren’t on record stating it. It’s just known.

You’re showing your age here if you aren’t aware of how disliked Moffett is in the game and whether you want to believe me or not that’s your call. But he apparently had “a fee” and still got rejected. How much louder do you want that statement to be?

There’s things about this great game you won’t learn from reading news reports on. You just need to actually be involved with the game, outside of just being a passive fan to understand that they are.

I’m an ex south’s season ticket holder

And the cull of clubs was a super league thing and which the arl didn’t have the power to stop it

I don’t mind Moffatt and his bid is better than chalmers or endscott

It’s what’s best for nz

It would be so rugby league would it ?

Keas bid rejected because some clubs CEOs have been holding a grudge for 30 years lol
Yes and no.

Very much like inviting the man who burnt down your historical family home (built by your grandfather) into your newly built home..

NZ2 will get up as an expansion franchise without a doubt. But geez they need to pick some better people leading their charge.

What makes you think it was the highest bid ? We know that another consortium were touted to be heavily financed.
20 million has never been the " fee" it's a base bid.

I never said anything about any of what you’re referring to in your reply here.

All I said is that the bid still got rejected after Moffett claims it had a fee attached to the proposal.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the ARLC not even bother to meet with them when they were over in NZ? Wasn’t it only Searles bid that they met with? Or was it Endacott’s?

Either way, Moffett is bad juju.

Pretty sure Moffatt bid is we the one with the good finances (some international player who invests in sports clubs) and endacott was members owned

This insignificant sporting body called the English fa wanted him as chief executive but he said no

But sure pappas who can’t run his own club is a better judge of acumen in a ceo / owner

They can't accept all the bids..
the " rejected " aren’t necessarily inadequate, rather less favourable. Some have better infrastructure , organisation or funding ect.
I'm sure that it's the Searle bids that had very heavy financial backing.

Look, you don’t like Moffett and perhaps others don't also but I won't be believing that that is the sole reason for the bids rejection. There's many nuances to this multifaceted process of which we are privy to next to nothing...
We'll just have to see how it plays out..
Or jump to conclusions lol
