New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

While potentially feasible, unlike a private family business that is able to keep such things secret through various corporate structures and nominees, probably a bit harder for an entity like the NRL to keep such secrets. Someone from within the NRL, an employee of the establishment acquired or a journalist will blab or find out and will be in the press straight away.
I mean, why would you need to keep it a secret anyway?

The average punter isn't going to give two shits.

The Caxton could be a owned by ISIS, and it wouldn't make a difference

If the dogs with a tiny junior base can fill their elite pathways with talented kids then a club like the warriors who have a whole nation to pick from should have zero problems

Shame Gus left the warriors if he had stayed they would be a powerhouse and winning comps
Haha f**k me, Phil Gould 'half a million' signing broke his neck, and is off to the Dolphins.

Cmon Warriors just copy Phil Gould!!

Did you read the article

It’s about another nrl team for Auckland playing at Eden park

The dope talks about the nz bid as if there is only one
sounds good after all auckland is where the business center in nz is. unless the nz experts who don't live there challenge this fact.

makes sense for a bid to be coming from there as well and if anything it will make the south island bids look slightly better or worse depending what auckland bid can collate and how it presents itself. hopefully forces the half jointed south island bids to step up their game and in regards to orcas, forces them to stop making bullshit up and concentrate on real things that they can actually deliver on.

i am team south island but more bids, the merrier.

I think the journo who wrote that was delusional and just made all that up tbh

Orcas are the v.strong favourites

Auckland is zero chance

why would they be 0 chance?

how are orcas strong favourites? none of their claims can be substantiated and they have reverted to porkie pies like mentioning jamaica and hawaii as hit areas. the main man behind the bid is a known bullshitter and another of their bid people in zorba peters is a creampie.

south island seems logical and thats my choice but whether the "business case" stands up who knows, we don't thats for sure. too much guessing here.

That’s what I was wondering. What actually constitutes an academy? Because 200K isn’t going to pay for much more than one full time employee and the rent on basic training facilities.
Yeah, the devils in the details, academies might just be camps x times a year.

decent write up
I'll happily flounce from this place if Auckland2 becomes NZ2.

There was nothing of substance in that write up. In fact it appears to be just bad AI.

Much of section 1 seems to be cribbed from a 1993 Warriors application.

2b states Auckland has a central location. Central to f-ing where?

Section 2c is just gobbledygook.

Section 3b it states many of the existing NRL clubs are based in Oz .. just many?

Comedy gold.

Edit: Have I (we) been whooshed? Is that entire site a pisstake? Check this "article" on the Bulldogs with no players or coaches names added to the placeholders:

Cause Andrew abdo met with the orcas whilst brushing off the other chch bidders

Warriors are already complaining about a chch team taking their territory

How do you think they would react to another team sharing their ground or Eden Park

And a second team in Auckland would be stupid for the game whilst Wellington and chch don’t have teams

so what beattie met with cumins and how did they go for them? like i said more bidders the better and one from auckland might make the south island bids step up and be undeniable. its like clubs having player depth jostling for spots, sometimes forces everyone to shift up a gear.

at the moment i dont thinks they are, there's holes in all 3 that i read anyways

judging by the amount of dodgy pop ups I’d doubt the site is legit
