hahah you are the one making claims without data to back it up. Face it you dont know how many people watched the opening 10 rounds of NRL in Perth so you cant possibly say more watched it in NZ, especially when you add context to the data and compare per head of population.
8k per game times 8 games per round times times ten rounds

= 640k

V

Nz 1.59 million

What’s per head of population got to do with it ?

One is FTA ONLY
other is PTV and FTA

per head provides context for results, as does one having a club and the other not.

Until you can tell us what the PTV viewing figures for Perth are then you have nothing.

8k is the average for all games in Perth

And given most league fans already have Fox in Perth and all the afl fans have it for that sport where is the new subscribers going to come from ?

(Mosman and north Sydney don’t count!)

We don't know pay number, but everywhere sport is hidden like behind paywall interest declines. NRL gets very little coverage in WA. Unlikely many kayo users watch NRL there.
Average nrl game gets 540k viewers on pay tv in Australia

I’m sure Perth Tasmania nt and Adelaide make basically nothing out of that number

So most nrl games would clash with a super rugby game or be at a bad time slot ?

And still outrate super rugby easily
You have to hit the glass barbeque hard to claim that the NRL outrates Rugby in NZ "easily".

In fact, I'd say you would have to be a complete f**kwit to believe this.

WB keeps saying this but I'm not sure why. He seems to think a competition going for a few months longer, and having more matches each week is all that counts.

The Warriors didn't even have the biggest ratings for a single match last year.

And while the NRL had increased viewership 10 weeks in (and before the Warriors collapse, we don't have full season data) Super Rugby had increased viewership over the entire round robin comp, including having more total viewers than 2023 before the finals were played.

Content is king

Not nrl fault super rugby is only a development comp rather than a genuine one in its own right

No chance union got close to nrl with 24 rounds v super rugby 14

And obviously im talking about aggregate ratings not averages per game

Nrl is dragged down by poor time slots and one game featuring an nz side v five games for nz at times
