How many born in New Zealand ?

It's like saying the NBA should put a team in Nairobi because 70% of NBA players are African American.
Happens that RL is ideally suited to guys that are 6ft+ and 100-110kg and can run fast. Happens that Islander and Maori physique is just that for many guys. Throw in that they tend to be bigger kids so stand out on the jnr footy field and voila, we have the reason NRL is full of them.

Supreme athletes together with discipline of rugby league
Perth will have 32 Jnr clubs (NS 8, WA 24). More than most NRl club catchment areas.
Participation award

How many nrl players will a Perth nrl side produce each year from kids born in wa ?

Zero ?

Why arent the Hunters walking the Qlnd cup every year given the number of Jnrs in PNG?
Same reason, without investment in grassroots coaches and facilities and without local elite pathways the cream of that crop of kids dont get opportunity to make it to the top.

The number of kids in the Perth Bears catchment wont be an issue as long as the pathways are in place. 32 Jnr clubs is more than most clubs. Unless there is some magic elixir in NSW and Qlnd water that turns kids into NRl first graders then there is no reason Perth Bears, with the Jnr numbers it will have, wont produce NRl & NRLW players.

Funny when someone points out that PNG dont produce NRl players you go off on a rant, yet you are taking the same exact position for Perth lol

Bears are going to carry Perth for 20 to 50 years it willl take to produce juniors

PNG is a nation where league is the main sport whilst in wa it’s an afterthought

PNG will be a gold mine for juniors as will nz2 and Brisbane 3

What do you mean Bears? Bears will be in perth lol
32 clubs, 5000 kids playing league. Govt funding and NRL getting its finger out.
We'll be ok, dont stress it.

You’re right Melbourne has weak tv ratings and juniors too

What’s east coast based ?

That’s just lazy talk
Oh, so now Melbourne’s a failure because of weak TV ratings and juniors? Tell that to the four premierships, consistent top-tier performances, and the fact they developed tonnes of rep stars. Juniors and TV numbers didn’t stop them from becoming a powerhouse.

It’s just facts—14 of 17 teams are in NSW and QLD. The NRL knows it needs to expand its footprint, which is why Perth makes sense. You can cry about ratings all you want, but the game doesn’t grow by staying in a bubble. The sooner you accept that, the better.

Storm have been around for close to 30 years

Nrl games in Victoria would average 15k maybe 30k for storm games

They produce no juniors from Victoria to the nrl

Perth will be a bit better than that not much

Nrl doesn’t need to be like afl and add dots on a map with teams who don’t mean much when it has places that will actually grow the sport

lol Storm are in the top 3 Rugby League clubs in the world. cuckoo cuckoo
Only an AFL fan would think having melbourne in the NRl hasn't been a huge success for the game.

wealth, fanbase, performance
tick, tick, tick

Oh but all NRL clubs were as good as the Storm, on and off the field.
Name one thing the storm have done to grow rugby league in a meaningful way in Victoria over the past 30 years

Dolphins have done more for rugby league in two years

Im not interested in going down the same rabbit hole with you again to give platform to your stupidity There are many many metrics to what makes a great NRL club, and what makes a club great for the NRL. That you want to cherry pick one out of many is on you.

There’s talk of a 3rd SEQ AFL team making the rounds, who would play out of the new 60k oval for the Brisbane Olympics. This could be the 20th afl team.

I think the NRL will be thinking very hard about where to put the 20th team. While NZ makes a lot of sense, it could be more important to put another team in Brisbane.

Putting a third team in Brisbane could really shut out the afl if they really start looming as a threat to SEQ.
