Do you mean as a third team or for NSW and Qld?

If you mean as a third team, no, if for NSW and Qld, yes, provided they've played some sort of junior footy in NSW and Qld.

If they grew up here and played their junior football in NSW or QLD like any other selected player, then it shouldn't really matter what nationality they are or what country they represent.

i For one dont like it in any fasion. State of Orign mean hes an Australian and either a cain toad or a cockroach. If hes saying hes an Australian then the player should back it up and play for Australia and be allowed SOO. I dont like a kewi or an pom playing SOO and if i get bashed for saying this so be it but thats what i think.

I agree. I think it's a sign of the times...this new generation of kiwi's that have grown up in Australia should be allowed to play origin....and for the Kiwis.

No Kiwis in Origin. Only Queenslanders and New South Welshmen.

We have Anzac tests and Tri Nations to test Australia's best against the Kiwis. Adding Kiwis to the State of Origin series would rob Origin of passion and international matches of interest and intensity.

We all want Queensland and New South Wales best to come together to form the Australian Kangaroos and take on the best in the world. I want to be waiting, looking foward to seeing the Kangaroos take on Wiki, Williams, Marshall, Raihihi, Vainikolo and Utai.

The international game must be elevated above State of Origin, the pinnacle of our game and the ultimate test. This wont happen until Kiwis field their strongest team.

Nah. Keep SOO as it is.

A Kiwi jersey is ENOUGH to lure a New Zealand player to play for their COUNTRY.
 You should hear Ruben Wiki talk about the pride of wearing a black jersey.

Well SOO only dictates where players started their professional carreers I belive, so realistically players like Carrol, Hunt and Sonny Bill should be aloud to play for both NZ and Qld/NSW...

Tonie Carroll is a complete idiot. He played for NZ in the 2000 world cup and with Bennett alonside him... he makes him play for QLD and Aus!

State of Origin should be BY BIRTHPLACE!

You know shit strong_latte, but what do you expect a Roosters fan to know about passion and pride, they only care about performance.

I'm dissapointed that Bennett, the champion of internationalism, would be so close to all these traitors and not discourage them. Carroll, Thorn, Hunt...

in an ideal world it would be by birthplace

but with people like lote tuquri who were born elsewhere then move here when they are young its harsh to tell them they cant play for qld when they first played footy there

I think they should be able to, that's the only way the international game will improve. I mean players from canberra, melbourne etc can play state of origin.

What would you know about passion? The broncos have been in the comp for about 15 years! Who gives a f**k about them??? Half your supporters have gone over to AFL with the lions because your broncos aren't performing up to standard! Don't tell me about bloody passion!

And in those 15 years they practically owned a decade.
This year the Broncos had bigger crowds and tv audience than the Lions, even though they were "not up to standard", on top of the lions winning 3 premierships.

All your club will EVER be is a ring-in. What the f**k do you know about passion ? Your club sold out to the highest degree before it was 10 years old. And you have the hide to talk about passion to supporters of a club that in 3 years time will be 100 years old. You've got some hide, but you've got no brains either. Go start your own comp again, ring-in. Wasnt it a dreadful shame that the Roosters and Manly ruined all your soulless, passionless plans in Superscumleague? How dumb are you to believe that rugby league will be shown in every country on Earth. You stupid f**king soulless git.

I bet you hate Souths being back too dont you ? Suck sh!t dipsh!t.

Gee since when has the Broncos been my club? Not since 1999.

If you knew anything about me you would know I'm actually a member of the South Sydney RLFC. So you can imagine Im really pissed off about the damn Bunnies being back.

Gee just because I live in Brisbane doesn't mean I'm a Broncos fan. (Admittedly I do follow the Broncos though, them being the sole representative of RL in the SEQLD) You f**king idiot. It is pretty funny how you just assume that Im a Broncos fan and a Super League groupie.

But one thing is undeniable, the Broncos shit all over the Roosters in the passion and pride stakes.

Of course they've been dominant in their time so far! For the first decade of their existance they were basically playing with the qld origin team! Also, it's true the broncos crowds have been bigger than the lions, but nevertheless the lions support is brisbane has been massive! It's supposed to be a Rugby League strong hold! They shouldn't have anything close to the support they've been getting if qlders are really as passionate and loyal to qld rugby league as they keep trying to tell us.
