Isn't it Nick Dan? Seriously question this guy and whose interest he really is serving.

The club should never go back to the members. They need to accept their ability to run the club and bring it into the current period just doesn't exist and all the club will be doing is remaining a mediocre mess. Simply they need to let go. A representative on the board is more than enough to get their own piece of influence.

I 100% agree, we need to move forward or forever be trapped in the past and a constant cycle of failure.

Great news. The fact that we are going to be financially sound and then some is positive.

I'll reserve judgement until I see some detail, I am not convinced that the NRL has our best interests at heart, they want to tick a box and move on.

He said the agreement would also ensure that the Knights jersey and logo were retained and that the team would continue to play in Newcastle.

This comment raises a lot of thoughts in my head. Does anyone else get the impression they're insinuating that we'll be a new entity (but stay in the same location and keep the jersey/logo)?

HSG own the current copyrights (Jersey, name, branding etc) no? The agreement just seals that we won't be changing, just the ownership and HSG won't rid off into the sunset with the brand we know now...I think...should have paid more attention in Business.

Amateur hour to send something like this out with no details.

WHY are the members club resisting? There might be an extremely good reason.

The fact there are no details, and the members club are the only party here with the interests of the club and it's members at heart, leads me to believe there likely is.

If it is so cut and dried, give us details. Pathetic that the members and fans have NFI what is going on and no ability to judge whether this is a good deal or not.

You're saying that as if the people implemented won't have the interests of the club and us fans, which is completely false. Those people will have to deal with a club that is struggling financially and struggling to secure its future and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what we want? A stable club?

The members club are simply too incompetent to run the club and thus should cop it on the chin that they won't and should never again have the power they did.

You state your opinions as if they are fact.

Nick Dan is a very smart man and an accomplished businessman. Hardly incompetent.

The NRL are interested in us existing. Not necessarily winning. In fact they probably don't want us to win, they have consistently shown they want the Broncos, Storm and glamour Sydney sides to win.

Who are these people to be implemented? Where are they coming from?

At the end of the day the members club is looking out for the interests of the members, and doing a thankless job in doing so. They should have the opportunity to do that transparently and without these disgraceful bullying tactics.

If the deal is so good, publish details and let the members decide. Anything else is rightly to be called bullshit.

It is really a re run of Tinkler. Once bitten twice shy. The members could conceivably be pushed aside and the matter taken out of their hands. Dan will need to be careful how he resists.

If you're going to make press releases like this it would be a smart idea to have some details following soon afterwards please NRL...

Because at this point I have no information to form an opinion on!

There's history between Dan and HSG, Dan was sacked frm the board by the HSG over an alleged leak relating to owing money to the ATO. HSG also asked him to resign from the members advisory group, he refused and challenged Cochran for the Chair and was elected.

So Dan is a shrewd operator and I would like to know more about the deal and the resistance before saying the members are just being deliberately obstructive.

Sounds a bit like bullying tactics by the NRL to try and force the members clubs hand. I'm not saying that I necessarily want the members club running the show but hopefully they can at least push for a sustainable long term model.
