Serial pest tackled in Newcastle

August 4, 2008 - 9:51PM

In the end, the only thing serial pest Peter Hore couldn't side step at EnergyAustralia Stadium was a Brett Finch crash tackle.

The long-time tormentor of sporting and cultural events, who has been banned for life from the venue, somehow managed to avoid security both outside and inside the ground to storm the field just 20 seconds after the kick off of Monday night's NRL match between Newcastle and Parramatta.
Hore, wearing a Chaser '07 T-shirt and with a guitar case on his back, jumped on top of Fuifui Moimoi as the Eels forward was being tackled, before halfback Finch came to the assistance of his teammate by tackling the intruder.
He was eventually escorted from the field by security before being taken away from the stadium by police.
Hore was expected to be charged by police on Monday night.
It is the third time Hore has disrupted a rugby league game at the venue - and second since being handed a life ban.
The last time he rode onto the field on a tricycle wearing a Ned Kelly style mask before letting loose a bunch of kittens.
Hore also ran on to the track during a Melbourne Cup and an Australian Grand Prix.
He is perhaps best known for interrupting Australia's 1997 World Cup qualifier against Iran.

I hope the papers give this absolutely no coverage tomorrow as it only encourages the prick. Newcastle ground security has to go, this is the 3rd time in a parra match in 3 years they have let somebody on the pitch (I don't know about other Knights games) and I doubt many people would be laughing if they lost one of their players because he ran in during a game and dropped the knees into a player.

3 yrs ago, when the Eels hammered Newcastle 50-0 at EAS, who was that fat slob who ran on near the end of the match and tried to charge down a kick, and when he missed, he just walked up with a very disgusted look on his face, whilst the security was no where to be seen? ROFL! I've gotta have a look at that again.

One thing I have never understood is how the idiot gets the money to travel around the country, get into major event, and pay all the fines he accumulates. He dosen't exactly strike me as someone who could hold down a regular job, or even be employable in the first place.

I think they did sack the group that was handling it after the last incident. TCB Security. Not surprised they let Hore through, they were useless in general. For instance, a couple of times the catering staff had to be the ones to break up fights in the stands while security looked on, because they didn't consider it to be part of their job, somehow. The number of underage kids they'd let through to the bar was equally appalling.

It's ridiculous, really. Despite changing contracts, our security still seems to believe they're just there for the presence, and that they're not required to do anything. Was standing next to a couple of them last night while they were busily watching the game for a good half hour.

I like his stunts. They are fantastically idiosyncratic. He clearly is an eccentric. There is something Robin Hood-ish about the way he c**ks a snoot at authority.

Correct.

If this bloke was hit by a bus tomorrow it would be an absolutely fantastic day.

He's a f**king oxygen thief and a waste of human space. The bum should get a f**king real job.

Pure undiluted hatred. As it should be.

The bloke's a merkin.

Pest needs new strings to his bow

Repeat offender Peter Hore added another unscheduled visit to his collection last night, appearing from nowhere to unwisely jump on Eels prop Fuifui Moimoi in the opening minute of the game.
"He was calling himself the serial pest," Eels captain Nathan Cayless said. Eels halfback Brett Finch angrily shoved him off and security arrived to drag him away. Last night he had a guitar case on his back, but he might need a new six-string after being flung to the deck. Knights captain Danny Buderus said: "I heard a loud snap."

It's a pity it wasn't his spine snapping, let's see him sneak onto the field in a wheelchair
