I read that too doc (who are you on BigPoofy haha?).

I was going to say surely that's not legal but I guess if they sell it as that then yes?

TBF, I'd been skimming as I'm filling time until I go home.

It was reported in The Age.

The chief media analyst at Big Footy is The Wookie. You know, the guy who can't even use Excel properly and compiles TV ratings while working the night shift at the Bates Motel.

It's a waste of time looking on there for any kind of meaningful analysis.

My favourite bit is that everyone's favourite journo Buzz has a bit saying something to effect of "NRL have dicked over there loyal supporters in Fox and Telstra"

FMD, no organisation has done more to tear the game apart in the last 20 years and has royaly f**ked us over so many times its not funny.

All this bluster from Rupert and Co is a clear indication that they are shitting themselves.

Why would they carry on like a scorned schoolboy, if they "didn't need Rugby League"??

I don't know the figures, but a while ago I was told that the running costs for AFL are significantly higher - much bigger squads and far more support staff. Certainly the case when comparing the Swans to any Sydney NRL team.

So much for Rupert's skilled negotiating ability, he looks like a bit of a 1 trick pony.

If they want League, they can only get it from once source.

The NRL can investigate other broadcast options.

The deal with 9 means the NRL can take their time.

Once someone puts Rupert's dummy back in, things will probably settle down, NRL and Foxtel will probably cut a deal.

That has to be a genuine negotiation, with give and take on both sides.

If they can't cut a deal in a reasonable timeframe the NRL has to look at other options.
I don't think it will come to that, but if it did it would not worry me.

Not to mention make-up, perfume, hair-spray, stockings, it is a high overhead sport.

Paul k(u)ent on nrl 360 is going to explain what the nrl can get in its next tv deal.
Should be interesting if extremely biased viewing

No doubt he'll be reading from the script Rupert gave him.

Paul Kent - does this man actually think for himself?

It's easy to fall into the trap of listening to Paul Kent. He doesn't have the rapid physical degeneration, stained clothes and whiff of stale whisky about him that gives him away as a raging alcoholic dribbler like a couple of his mates at the Tele.

But he is every bit as much of a merkin, if not moreso because he talks utter shit while sober.

Did RL fans in Sydney same the same about the Swans in 1982? They went from initial 12k crowds to current 30k (best live supported prof sports team in Sydney).
Just wondering?

In 1982 Swans averaged 15,993 which was the best live supported team in Sydney even more than the crack Parra team of the time.

Wow what a lol worthy performance.
1 code in 10 years?
We've increased our fta coverage, more people will be able to see more games live, state of origin goes from strength to strength despite Queensland's dominance.
People aren't suddenly going to watch afl because Rupert said so.
What a merkin
