You could just say “ I don’t know”.We know the PTV audience for NRL in Perth was 5k in 2017. You would have to be a raving lunatic to think the number has changed substantially since then.

Why can’t ch9 sell nrl ad space for more given there are a lot more people watching it? And it’s irrelevant for ptv where most of the revenue is from subscriptions not adverts. And that's why the NRL will never ever have a TV deal comparable with the AFL.
They have 30 second commercials after each goal ( roughly 22 a game ) and 4 minutes between quarters. In comparison the NRL can squeeze in a 15 second commercial after a conversion.
You said most people from Perth who watch rugby league have Foxtel. There's no evidence to support your claim. The only time we had data for FTA and PTV was 2017. There were more people watching NRL on FTA in 2017.You could just say “ I don’t know”.

Given how bad FTa covg of NRl was I can only go by that. Kayo has entered the market since then and made it much more affordable and convenient to watch the game on PTV. But the reality is neither of us know as there is no data. We can both guess away as much as we like. You said most people from Perth who watch rugby league have Foxtel. Id have thought the one with the most viewers. For sponsors surely its about the number of potential customers reached, not the amount of times the same people see the same advert? And in sport it is largely the same adverts repeated time and again during the game. There is 10x the ad space chances, NRL isn't that much more popular to close that gap.
They still sell ad space, Their programs have sponsors.
Take the Sunday ticket in NRL and the AFL version.
What is going to be worth more as far as naming rights go.
1 that goes for 4 hours or one that goes for 6?

Whats a better RoI for advertisers. 1milion people seeing your advert once, or 500k seeing the advert three times?
But we are talking quite a difference in realised value.Again there isn't that much difference in ratings to justify RL being worth more. Given the circumstances
But we are talking quite a difference in realised value.
Take out origin, conservatively worth $30mill and $5mill radio rights
for 3 NRL games a week + 6 Saturday night games ch9 is paying NRL $80million cash a year for next 5 years.
Ch7 is paying AFL more than double that for 3 AFL games a week + 7 Saturday night games in their next deal.
You and Maxipad argued that most RL fans in Perth have watched the game on Foxtel for decades due to poor coverage from Ch9. The data from 2017 doesn't support your claim.Given how bad FTa covg of NRl was I can only go by that. You "guessed" that there were more people in Perth watching rugby league on Foxtel than FTA over the last 25 years. The data from 2017 exposed your guess as bullshit. Now you're claiming Kayo is the difference maker. Everything you say is based on lies and supposition. But the reality is neither of us know as there is no data. one year, 7 years ago before Kayo. Its not 'current' lol. Come back to me when you can show me something relevant to 2024.You "guessed" that there were more people in Perth watching rugby league on Foxtel than FTA over the last 25 years. they know if you're an afl or nrl fan you've little choice. The transition from the much more expensive PTV to streaming was always going to hot their bottomline and lead to recoup through price increases.
in an inflationary environment they can raise prices aggressively
especially when. They have locked away the afl for so long
Well If Stan steal away the top rating product fox sports is truly stuffedthey know if you're an afl or nrl fan you've little choice. The transition from the much more expensive PTV to streaming was always going to hot their bottomline and lead to recoup through price increases.
