I'm being conservative based on what the industry is saying about advertising, the looming gambling add ban etc. End of day it will largely come down to competition not content amount. If there are two or more serious bidders it will go up, possibly quite a bit. If there aren't then it wont.
re content expansion is largely happening on A) PNG being funded cost positive to the NRL B) Perth adding the 18th viable club they need for the 9th game with Australian increased coverage. How much is that worth? Probably the 10% or so. Remember Dolphins admission was only worth $20mill a year or 5% of the overall deal value.
on the DAZN take over, hopefully they do and they get interested in SL and French RL as well
Nrl finds itself in’s very good position
New cashed up owners at Foxtel will be bidding to keep their top product. Foxtel isn’t a viable platform without league
Stan are going to get the rights or make them pay for it
Nrl deal doesn’t even reflect the real value of the dolphins yet
Let alone what Perth png and nz2 are worth to Australian and overseas tv
Ad rates are largely irrelevant for subscription tv which pays 80 percent of the deal
Nine are getting origins so they are paying 60 million for the club comp vs seven paying 170 million
