Nah

Find a quote

I did say that the real deal was around 550 million and that the afl included Telstra contra because the result wasn’t great and they wanted to put a positive spin on it

Foxtel are going to want a whole lot more exclusive content next time which will mean lower overall ratings as less fta access and more games in poor crowd time slots (less overlapping games)
I'm talking before the deal was done, pretty sure you did lol

So, when is the 9th game likely to be played?

Is Monday night footy likely to return?
6:30pm Sunday?
Shift Saturday to 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm kickoffs?
Do we dare have more than one game playing at a time? 🤯

Sunday 630 pm will be for most Perth home games (330 to 430 pm Perth)

They could also try Saturday 930 pm (630 to 730 pm ko Perth)

Need to allow Perth to have games at a good time for crowds and tv viewers in their home market

Sunday 6:15pm should be the ninth timeslot. Perth should play majority of their home games at the local time of Sunday 4:15pm.

And when they are expected to enter the comp in 2028, some PNG home games could be scheduled at Sunday 6:15pm. With their consistent warm weather, afternoon games in PNG may not be the way to go.

Additionally with Sunday 6:15pm, you could take advantage of public holiday Mondays, like Easter Monday, Kings Birthday (NSW, Vic), Labour Day in May (Qld), Labour Day in March (Vic).

Example, have a Storm home game at Sunday 6:15pm on the eve of Victoria Labour Day in March.

Without serious investment I suspect all PNG home games will have to be during the day.

Can you do 10 games now for when the NRL expands to 20 teams? Might need the GWS crowd counter for that one..
I'll combine the Midgets counter, the Union Wolvo counter and an abacus counter (which works underwater) used by Australian politicians to calculate policy costings before they come into effect.
Sorry have to recalibrate . I'm stuffed to work out when the 10 games will be played.

I suspect that the 9th game will be Sunday night, and the 10th game will bring back Monday night

Thursday - 8pm (FTA)
Friday - 6pm, 8pm (FTA)
Saturday - 3pm, 5:30pm, 7:30pm
Sunday - 2pm, 4pm (FTA), 7pm
Monday - 7:30pm

*Either Sunday or Monday night might be on FTA.

Prime time brings in the cash, and with 20 teams, breaks can be better managed so teams aren't having short turn around.

I personally would prefer no games on Thursdays or Mondays, but clubs will want cash.

Not sure if the other 17 clubs would agree for all PNG home games to be played during the day.
I’m guessing with the heat up there only winter would be good for day games

Which opens up Saturday night 930 pm

But it’s a bit late for the locals in png and the local tv market

If they want to jag a png tv deal they need to be in png friendly time slots too but the potential ratings are massive

Just checked in with the AccuWeather website, it is currently 30 degrees in Port Moresby. At 2pm- 32°, 4pm- 30°. At 6pm-28°, 9pm- 26°.

Saturday 9:30pm might be too late to generate sufficient ratings.
