You need to look up the definition of schedule lol.

no i don't

you have now tried to say you were talking about TV time slots

that doesn't even make sense to say the NRL doesn't control those seeing they agreed to them. they did not have to do so

keep digging

Stop being so naive, NRL doesn't control them, you think Friday at 6pm was an NRL idea? Lol. Tv controls them and NRL lets them get away with creating shty Ko times for fans who want to go to games time and again.

Schedule: a list of planned activities or things to be done showing the times or dates when they are intended to happen or be done:

i don't know who came up with the idea but if the NRL didn't want it then they didn't have to agree to it

K O times should be when TV can make the most money.
As for crowds, half price tickets for the seats opposite the cameras.

It looks like Telstra is planning to offload it's stake in Foxtel. Probably increases the push for streaming, not that it needed much of a push.

Foxtel makes a billion dollar profit and normally a company would be mad to give up a stake like that. But Telstra I believe are making a very smart move most probably based on the media environment in a few short years whereby if it remained a holder of Foxtel shares it most probably would find it difficult to do what it intends to do when the next NRL contract comes up for negotiations i.e bid for the lot-streaming on all devices. I hope they can offload their share because they will become another bidder next time around and if you thought records were broken, wait til the bidding heats up for the next NRL rights. Presently, Telstra are handtied being part of the Foxtel consortium. Imagine if it does sell its side of Foxtel for 8-9 billion? "Ah lets put aside half that for the NRL" Perhaps? One can only dream :)

Glad the ARLC blinked and didn't let FOX sweat it out a little longer like D.Smith envisioned.

Not that the NRL would of necessarily been offered 'Twitter' but it would of made FOX very nervous and pay value for the ratings/subscribers the NRL gives them.

This seems like the natural way forward now, FB and Twitter using sport as it's own social media network.

The NFL is coming to Twitter.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Tuesday morning that Thursday Night Football will be streamed live on Twitter for 10 games in 2016.

The social-media platform was one of several companies vying for the opportunity to purchase the streaming package for the prime time slate.

The NFL has been searching for a partner after a successful trial run last year when Yahoo! won the right to stream the Jacksonville Jaguars-Buffalo Bills game from London.

"This is about transforming the fan experience with football. People watch NFL games with Twitter today," Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said in a statement. "Now they'll be able to watch right on Twitter Thursday nights."

In addition to live streaming the game, Twitter's partnership includes in-game highlights from TNF and pre-game Periscope broadcasts with players and teams.

The NFL expanded the Thursday night slate this season with CBS and NBC each owning five Thursday night games. The NFL Network will simulcast the contests with Twitter owning the streaming rights in what the NFL is calling it's "Tri-Cast" distribution model (broadcast TV, cable TV and digital). NFL Network will exclusively broadcast an additional eight Thursday, Saturday night and additional contests to be determined.

With more and more consumers turning to mobile and streaming devices for their video content, the NFL has vigorously pursued putting its product on an internet platform. With pro football garnering overwhelming popularity among television viewers and advertisers, there is huge potential for companies like Twitter to up their worldwide profile by live-streaming NFL games.

"Twitter is where live events unfold and is the right partner for the NFL as we take the latest step in serving fans around the world live NFL football," Goodell said in a statement. "There is a massive amount of NFL-related conversation happening on Twitter during our games and tapping into that audience, in addition to our viewers on broadcast and cable, will ensure Thursday Night Football is seen on an unprecedented number of platforms this season. This agreement also provides additional reach for those brands advertising with our broadcast partners."

Don't know where this should go, but surely it's about time that the press conferences could be recorded properly when they put them up on line. For the past 3 years you haven't been able to hear the questions being asked. So frustrating.

NRL deal bolsters Foxtel

The election channel launch comes as the new $1.8 billion NRL TV rights deal delivers not just extra viewers in the first two months of the premiership, but also additional Foxtel subscribers. The third quarter was a Foxtel *record, topping the previous best in 2009, highest monthly sales to date posted in February.

Fox Sports ratings are up for matches, while The Matty Johns Show and NRL 360 have also *increased audiences. But viewers are not just turning on for the talk based show. A strong line-up of *female presenters including Lara Pitt has helped attract a broader audience of female viewers.
