Game day expenses maybe, doesn't mean they are covering travel & accommodation for NRL clubs participating, I would be surprised if the RFL and NRL didn't contribute

It seems we can afford to send 2 teams to play in London but we can't afford to put another team in QLD which still has only 3 for the whole state.
Maybe I should remind people that Sydney has 9 teams.

Introducing a new club into the NRL would have a cost but we would have that club for ever.
Sending teams to London for a premiership round would be a once off.

Reading todays papers it is clear netflix and others are seriously hurting fox. Foxtel cancellations are on the rise. Fox needs the nrl in australia badly. Smith is playing a huge game here.

Hopefully the NRL has learnt from the Titans and realises that any new club in any location is going to require extra infrastructure funding to ensure sustained success and maintain the momentum of those first couple of years. Consider the difference between Titans and storm and the difference having the extra funding has made to the storms success compared to leaving the Titans to fend for themselves and then bailing them out.

They'd need to be getting around $3.5mill a week extra in subscriptions. One advantage is it could be a worldwide deal and be a value add to their sales outside Australia.

Internationally, Netflix added 2.74 million subscribers, compared with its projection of 2.40 million.
Netflix has been aggressively building its overseas presence as its key U.S. market matures.
The company said revenue rose to $1.74 billion from $1.64 billion a year earlier.
Netflix forecast adding about 1.65 million customers in the United States in the current quarter. It also said it expected to add about 3.50 million subscribers worldwide.

It had zero to do with them falling over.

It was the direct result of a poor & overambitious management investing everything in a gigantic centre of excrement that they didn't need, they were flying & making million dollar profits before that. Searle got too far ahead of himself.

yeah read that article on the plane this morning. Talking to a mate yesterday and he mentioned he canceled foxtel. They offered him six months for free to keep him. They are getting desperate mate. I like what i am reading and sense we may see a very dramatic announcement when it comes.

Same here. Dropping fox is at the top of my list of things to do when i get back from this wedding drinkathon in adelaide.
