What's wrong with our logo? Unless you're referring to the 30th year logo, in which case it still looks good, but geez they could have done something better with it instead of rehashing the same one every 5yrs.

We can agree the away kits are embarrassing at present. Recycling designs that were bad to start with and have no "warm and fuzzy" feelings associated with them.

Has Newcastle EVER had good merch? We could do so much with it - good colours, a wealth of imagery and iconography to pull from.... but we can't even get our logo right.

Our 2012/2013 away strip was pretty nice IMO. It was simple and worked.

And on the second point, again with 2013, I felt we had good merch. A lot of black/grey gear with the red and blue accents looked great; they stood out easily and the logo looked fantastic.

On point and agree. 1/30 ain't bad.

I dont mind the colour clashing (thats just the reality of sponsorship and the Red-Blue is bright enough to stay prominent)

Seriously though, it looks like a pre-teens tube top.....

Can't agree that the Broncos, Panthers, Eels have done the right thing by changing kit so much. it's weakened their brands imo

Its little surprise that pretty much everyone is praising the Broncos new home kit this year. it's a modern take on an old design.

Manly fans mostly hated the V. pretty much all wanted the hoops returned

Panthers changing colours every couple of years is always a big talking point

I could go on and on really. point is most fans want an iconic strip and they want it kept mostly intact.

The issue is when they go away from their brand elements.

There are ways to keep jerseys fresh and keep true to brand elements - the Broncos (now and for last few), Eels, Raiders and (with the exception of the V) Manly understand that and do it well. Panthers have come back to it as well. We could do it too, if we had some designers who understood our brand elements and were committed to protecting them.

I will say it again - the current strip is not iconic enough to be a forever thing. We are a 30 year old club that has had half a dozen jerseys - we need to settle on timeless branding, not a single design that we expect to last forever and we are apparently too afraid to change.

Having said that, most every designer who has had a go at something a bit different for us has butchered it, so I understand the trepidation.
