Give us a better option...for the record Watson should bat at 3 or 4 where he is most suited! However there aint an opener screaming "pick me", and do not say Khawaja who is another middle order bat and Sean Marsh is a woeful opener! Nick Maddinson might be that guy, however his form tapered off late last year, if he bashes the door down early I would have no dramas having Maddinson come in and open.

Kat is the obvious choice and Oozi has opened for most of his career, hard to get an opening gig for NSW when they have about 5 openers in the top 5 batting spots.

Plenty of options.

Can't be too many tougher gigs to get than NSW opener at the moment. Hughes, Warner, Watson, Katich, and Jaques have all opened for Australia in one form or another. Maddinson looks best there and seems to have a big future ahead of him, Uzi could do it at a pinch and I was reading about Strauss' partner at Middlesex is also a NSWelshman but can't get a look in here.
