I feel some supporters here have no idea of the general perception of the sharks.

Cronulla, viewed outside the fishbowl is seen as the biggest basket case of the NRL.

The only stability was under Gow, and that poor man was booted by an opportunist for cutting up a disabled blokes jersey.

Then they ran the joint into the ground. Constant threats of defaulting on loans for over 7 years.

Then a club supporter becomes chairman.

Well intentioned and effective but seen by many as the head of the "cheerleaders."

Then this asada thing.
Cronulla is a laughing stock.
To be around the top 4 is a miracle and its pretty much all due to the popularity of Gal, and Flanno being a "lads'" coach.

To say Bruno Cullen was a set up........
That is hilarious. Bruno got out because the joint is a sh1t fight still!

I have no idea how you know that from QLD, but anyway........parramatta.

I've heard that before, in the papers when this shit first came out.

Who exactly and why should anyone give a f**k?

Arse/harder are yet to prove anything, we have been soiled by media orgs to sell f**king newspapers, there was a short period in 2011 where a big mistake was made. Don't forget that Dank then moved on to a powerful AFL club.

All you are is a pleb that likes to take pot shots. You got the runs on the board ;-)

If you care about the joint then come up with something constructive or f**k off.

Bruno got bounced, didnt want to be there in the first place from my limited view on this one.

great call michelle leslie . . .

Yeah right on man

I didnt say that these thoughts were my thoughts.
They are the views shared by people outside of the sharks in RL circles.

Cronulla unfortunately is a laughing stock.
I feel for Irvine cause he did a great job.
The club had stability and a bright outlook going forward.
Cut 6 months later and the sharks are battling for survival once again.

But the sharks have to own the perceptions.
First thing the new board has to do is address these perceptions.

I dont live in the fish bowl and almost everyone that I know that isnt a sharks supporter (and thats pretty well everyone btw) doesnt have that view. They all sympathise with the clubs plight and are supportive. Some are quitely pleased at how far we have come despite the ASADA sheet. Almost all of them see the likes of the Tiges and Para as being the basket cases you're referring to. I think you're carrying old baggage ML. But assuming your comments are correct then it's time for all of us SUPPORTERS to stop bringing this old shit along with us and start (as one ARLC hitter told me) "looking to your future...it's bright"..

Parra are definitely the basket case since the early 90s. Very cashed up but forever plodders. They make the grand final in 2009 and then get rid of the coach and all their best players. Their only other recent success was late 90s and early 2000s when they'd been gifted the Canterbury players who left during the Super League thing (Pay, Dymock, Smith, McCracken etc).

The Sharkies are up and down, but we've made it through 3 big crises over my lifetime. The bad press is largely a St george bias/agenda, as those predators would love to take hold of our juniors and possibly our ground and club assets.

And if Piggins had not stepped aside from Souths, they'd probably be in oblivion .
