OK, to take our minds off other dramatic events today, time to open up nominations for greatest ever Raiders 5/8th.

I am thinking.... Chris O'Sullivan... ummmmm......

Sully and Daley the only two candidates for mine. Was Ron Giteau a 5/8th? I was too young.

Maybe even *gulp* Mark McLinden as a candidate at a pinch...

Yeah as a tribute to a dashing rookie of the year a few seasons back, i think we should chuck Macca in there too for the hell of it

O'Sullivan and Daley. McLinden shouldn't get in on the back of todays events, he was never in these two guys league.

Terry Martin

Seriously, there is not much point to this one. We all know who will win and it's not like the centres where Big Mal was a certainty but there was one spot up for grabs.

Just hand it to Daley. And while we're at it, hand the half back spot to Stuart. Let's not waste time on pointless polls.

Yes and then you will all jump on me for not putting it up for a vote. I can never do the right thing at the moment. :? :? :? :? :?

Hardly, you'd have to have been dropped at birth to not vote for Daley and Stuart as our halves combination.

As I recall, the objective set at the start was to allow everyone to vote on every position, so as to resolve the controversies about who we all thought should be put into the best team. I also think it gives respect to those players who should at least be considered, to be put in the poll.

I was thinking of truly good players like Kevin Walters ... though he played more for us in the centres.

Most of all, it would disrespect Chris O'Sullivan if we didn't vote, IMO. Chrissy was one of the true legends of our club. He was a player who was like the heart and soul of our team. In something like his words... he had seen the bottom of the valley and he eventually was on the top of the mountain. He was a truly great club man. I freely admit that when he ran out on Bruce Stadium (yes it was called that then) for the last time, I had tears in my eyes....... he was more heart and soul Canberra than Ruben Wiki... Chris never left us... no matter what the consequences. What a player he was. What a club man. Someone who truly bled green.

Agreed, even if he doesn't get a vote it still has to go to the polls!!!!
