You could argue an up an comer on 180k contract, and getting 20k 3rd party = $200,000 annual salary

Are you suggesting he just forget about 10% of his salary, that was promised, most likely in writing?
No what I highly doubt is that the actual average is 20k. For the numbers to make sense, a 20k average needs the upcomer to be getting more like 2k or a free footlong sub, otherwise the rest of the origin level players wouldn’t be getting anywhere near the quarter mill the top 8 are taking. All I’m saying is that this article creates even more confusion than answers.

Then again maybe I shouldn’t have drunk that homebrew that Rammy & HJ game me

An up and comer on $180k wouldn't be getting TPA's. It's your $700k+ players that have the TPA's. Why would a company pay money for a no name?
Bingo although I’m sure they do. Appearance fee for rocking up to kids birthday. But unlikely the kids going to ask mummy and daddy to get Kaysa to come, but after asking the club regarding Semi, Normzie, Bevo, Gunco and the Timmynator, mummy and daddy asked the club who was on offer.... but oh no that’s a cap rort

Is that the one they serve in a short plastic bottle with a bit of garden hose hanging out the side?

guys that make a name straight a way perhaps, who are not on a big salary?

Bevan French come to mind ? Gutho?

Nathan Brown was signed for little but made a huge impact in a short period of time

A lot of clubs have these sorts of guys

A local company would get good value out of them instead of forking out overs for a Cam Smith or Billy Banana Slater who attract the national brands

But only 93 players all up got it. That’s an average of 5-6 players per club. You maybe right that Gunco, Bevo and Browno were in ours but again they’d more like be the guys tempering out the average rather than receiving the average. And up and comers are both less likely to rock the boat and more likely to get paid
