We don’t know what’s true. You can’t kick a team out based on allegations. If it is proven,And the NRL conduct an investigation (that will take longer than the finals series) they will cop some fines and maybe some deregistrations.

It's all contingent on it being proven true.

And for mine, the issue is if the South Sydney club facilitated Burgess' behaviour, and lied about it - if that is true, then a statement-making punishment must be issued.

I think every club covers shit up, but as always the consequences of the cover-up are usually waaay worse than the actual problem. When you embark on a cover-up you've got to realize that it could all come out.

If true, their actions have caused immense damage to the game at a time when they are climbing out of the covid ditch. A fine is nothing to them, so what is actually a deterrent ? Salary cap or competition points.

I completely agree.

IF it is proven that Souths covered some of his behaviours up, he that gives the game a massive black eye, and contravenes all the Women In League work that the NRL likes to do every year.

To me, it's a little surprising - we aren't talking about misbehaving on social media, but ALLEGEDLY abusing women, and partaking in illicit substance abuse.

As big a star as he was, and it's surprising to me that Souths would rather protect him, and over their own brand.
