Non-eels footy stuff

Contract is invalid now because Homebush stadium wont be getting the upgrade that was agreed upon before covid with the NSW Government.

Instead they are upgrading Penrith stadium.

Vlandy's is obivously trying to get as much out NSW government as he possibly can which is within his right.

And is using the QLD government to push his bargain even more.
Perrottet just told him to get f**ked.

Serious question ... does Qld just have money falling out their a-holes? ... they throw a f**kload at everything ... yet you read they have a f**kload of debt ... is it right to piss big bucks away for everything? Where do you draw the line?

Seems like V'landys is keen to play more GFs in Brisbane.

Lure of money from QLD government is a major factor.

But why have a GF where 30k less people can attend.

Qld see origin as their GF anyway.

Unless there is a QLD team in it they wouldn't care. They proved it last year when the crowds were garbage for the 2 months they had the comp up there.
I don’t see it that way. Brisbane has been the league capital for years. They’ve earnt the right to continue to host the centrepiece, particularly when they have the best Rugby League stadium in the world.

The only thing that will stem the tide is less complacency in Sydney.

I actually dont care if its not played in sydney all the time. It would probably be a good thing. Though the options are fairly limited

Some of the crowds last year for the blockbuster games in QLD when comp moved up i felt were average at best considering they whinge they only get 1 game in brisbane every 2 weeks

My experience with queenslanders is I feel they love origin more then club football. If they win origin then nothing else matters.

My Dad is from north queensland so i have a shitload of realtives in North Qld. The only time they want to talk footy is origin time.

If the cowboys are doing well they are happy but they dont brag about like they do at origin time with the maroons.

I went to the Gabba for the ashes about 4 years ago.

Personally found it a hole.

Upgrade is definitely needed.

FFS. Does that mean another drop in wicket?? We've already lost the WACA pitch, the Gabba has been about the best Aussie pitch for the past 20 years. Now it'll be a f**king road like the MCG...

when they did the new Perth stadium they tried to reproduce the old WACA traditional pitch, so hopefully, they do the same with the new GABA strip

Big difference between North Queensland and Brisbane. Its like comparing Coffs Harbour and Sydney.
