Maybe they are just willing to subsidise his contract elsewhere, e.g. by $400k, so they can use the $900k for other shit?

But also the player can agree to any settlement he likes. He might agree to take $200k to cancel the contract, knowing he can get $900k somewhere else, plus ‘someone’ might offer to sell him a $2M house for $1.5M, completely unrelated to the Roosters.

It reinforces how important your 7 is. It's no surprise that our resurgence coincided with getting a decent 7. It will be no surprise that we will drop down to the middle of the pack when he finishes up too. Even if you have a talented youngster coming through, they don't string good games together at the same frequency as you'd want. Just look how clunky the Roosters have been. The Cows and Broncos this year ? What changed is they got an experienced 7.

It tells me that there’s no doubt Moses should be the re-signing priority ahead of Drown. I think we can find someone to cover Drown’s role much easier than Moses’. However, with the quality moving on from our roster, we should be confident of retaining both.
