For De Belin's sake I wonder if he's given this some thought. He must really consider himself to be innocent. If the allegations prove correct when it come to sentencing the judge is going to take this into account. He's shown no remorse and it's been all about him. It might get him some extra time.

Sorry mate. Maintaining your innocence and defending your rights before a criminal trial is not an offense, and is not the basis for sentencing. He's absolutely within his rights to do what he has done thus far. If he is found guilty, he'll cop plenty no matter what.

Put yourself in a similar situation......and assume that you know that you are innocent of the charges laid against you......what would you do? I sure as hell wouldn't accept a suspension, the notice of which was accompanied by statements that implied that I had done something wrong.

I think the part about him not showing remorse, if guilty, is true though. But hey a few tears and sorrys in court will clear that up

He only has to show remorse during the trial. This case against the NRL will have no bearing what so ever on his sentence (which is what parrathruandthu was saying)

I imagine the making up of the 11 year sentence rule and then applying it retrospectively will also be a part of De Belin's case

That’s what I said. Pretty much whatever he does outside of court can be negated by some waterworks in court

Fair enough. I thought you were agreeing with Parrathruandthru.
Well to a degree. Certain behaviours won’t endear him during sentencing but nor would they necessarily condemn him. On the proviso that he is guilty. As Soren said, not showing remorse doesn’t mean shit if you’re actually innocent
