On the random facts thread.

I've lived in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane , and now Lismore.

When I was a teenager in Melbourne there was a drive-in close by adjacent to, but on the other side of a creek, with a bunch of mates we pulled some seats out cars that were dumped and set 'em up under some scrub next to the drive in fence, we'd cut through the fence and turn all the close speakers up and watch the movies.

My first car was an XR falcon 289 V8 that cost me about $250.00

Cheapest car I ever "owned" was a Ford Capri I swapped a cup of Milo for with a mate cause he was stoned and wanted the Milo that bad. ( I gave it back after a few days though )

I've been a Parra supporter since I first moved to Sydney when I woulda been around 8 or so I guess.

I'm kinda ambidextrous, I bat left handed, bowl right handed, write left handed, kick right footed ( but can also kick left footed ok ) and if I play racquet sports, I play equally poorly either hand, even table tennis I'll swap hands and play forehand or backhand. My first game of golf they didn't have any LH hire clubs left so I played right handed, and I suck at it equally left handed.

1. I once bought a boat off ebay for $200. It sunk and I ended up having to spend $600 to raise it off the bottom of Pittwater.

2. I bought a 5m tall inflatable Santa this year (also off ebay) and it stopped working midway through Xmas celebrations yesterday.

3. My little 4 year old girl goes alright snowboarding (super proud of that one)

4. Noise and I used to host a Boxing Day party in our sharehouse called “Boxfest”. It was fun, but not as good as it sounds.

5. I live in sunny Avalon. Come say hi if you’re in the area.

Happy Birthday HJ.
It’s my partner’s birthday today as well. I bought her a KitchenAid stand mixer. A pink one. She’s always wanted one and now she’s got it. I’ll be in the good books for quite a while now.

I love Avalaon. Have relatives there. If it wasn’t for the traffic, ticks and funnel webs I’d live there in a heartbeat.

Actually the Northern Beaches is the only place I’d consider other than the Sutherland Shire. I once lost a holding deposit on a house in Collaray Plateau. My wife found out and being from the south was furious that I’d dare buy her a house there before she saw it. Spoilt brat.

Dad called me a pussy for listening to her and walking away from what then was a bargain buy.

Well fair enough then ... you should have clubbed her on the head and dragged her there
In 1984 I got hit by a car. I nearly died. Sued the driver under the old third party claim insurance scheme. Wanted to use the money to buy a new Honda Integra. Dad thankfully intervened and I bought my first house. I think it was 1987. We bought in a new suburb called Edensor Park.

My solicitor at the time advised me to buy a terrace in Darlinghurst. I nearly had the money in cash. I should have listened to him. Made bugger all on the joint out west.

Yep traffic sucks on the weekend up here but it’s not a terrible place to be stuck at. Completely agree about the ticks. One of the little f**kers got me a few weeks back. Had an allergic reaction and got the worst rash of my life. My knee blew up as well.

While we were getting our renovations on our haiuse done this year my partner and I stayed at her uncles house, right across from Warriewood Beach. Beautiful house worth a fortune. I loved the vibe of the neighborhood, everyone very friendly. The drive to work every day was pretty f**ked though.
Her other uncle has a house in Collaroy. Once again a beautiful house worth a fortune. Northern Beaches aren’t too bad.
