If you read the sentence statement, he gave him a non parole pd of 3.75 years bc he is nearly 80 years old and his heart is f**ked.

Personally he should have been given 5 lots of 10 years.

Good show but they didn't say merkin, they said the word LU changes to merkin. It was at about 9:01pm so maybe the banned words list allows it after 9pm now? Dunno but I've never heard it on regular tv.

I didn’t stay there but lots of merkins who live out of town did. They had their two days in Brisbane to be negative know it all merkins who think they are smarter than the executives.

In pre-sentence statements, Pell’s lawyers addressed the court on a “let’s pretend he’s guilty” basis. Accordingly they raised his age etc, and also quite remarkably, referred to the sexual penetration charge as a vanilla type offence in the scale of sexual assaults.

Ok, so why would they do the “let’s pretend he’s guilty” and that he part of the verdict reading? It read as fact.

I’ve never read one of those things before and f**k it was long and boring.

There must have been some significant evidence (that is not clear anywhere) for them to find him guilty given it was committed over 20 years ago. I can only assume the kid who had to take it in his mouth could describe aspects of his penis and general area in detail?

Were there witnesses that maybe came forward but they haven’t been mentioned.

Short of the lawyers admitting guilt inadvertently or whatever i can’t reconcile based on what I’ve tried to read how they got the guilty verdict. I’m not defending him or anything either, I’m sure he’s done it and despite what that verdict reading says it probably isn’t a an isolated incident, or more specifically to that 2 month period.
