Do you think robots should be afforded due process if they smash pots of beef stroganoff taken for testing under somewhat dubious circumstances?

A few questions before I answer that hypothetical.

1. Why are robots being tested?
2. What are they being test for?
3. Why would they smash pots of beef stroganoff when they are usually predisposed to eating it?
