So I am looking for a bit of a project and am thinking that I might buy a 2nd hand tube amp or maybe a new one. Not sure.

Anywho, WTF with Class A, B, AB & C amplifiers ? Can you explain in simple terms ?

FYI there is some rumblings about a hand wired tube amp coming out of China, that when you replace the Beijing tubes with Russian tubes, you get amazing warm sound.

I am guessing your not wanting a guitar amp but home.
Better tubes will make a difference and NOS are the best. I also like Tungsol for new production. Depends on tubes need most likely can get.
Class A are generaly smaller amps as get hot but some say sound best. It all comes down to personal taste.I wouldn't worry about this.Your speakers choice will play a big part.
With guitar amps a $400 speaker can sound great with one set up but a $200 speaker better with another. Depends on the sounds you want.

Circuit design and speaker will effect sound most.

Tubes will make a subtle difference. If it sounded great it may sound a little nicer. But I wouldn't expect if it sounded ordinary to take it too a great sounding amplifier.

If find a kit I will build it in my spare time.

I take a sip of my coffee then a bite of my coconut slice. Occassionally I will go two sips of coffee to the one bite.
It is all about rationing it so don't run out of either.
No big bites and no big sips

I’ve noticed that there is also an emerging trend to utilise the OS called Raspberry Pi, which seems to be a very flexible mini computer board that can do almost everything and is easily programmed, once you know your python shit.
