Who the f**k is Pence?

Did he bother to put his hand up for this year, and if so why did someone like Trump trump him?

I preferred Sanders to Clinton, but when you're up against someone from the far right in Trump, and when voting is not compulsory, there's something to be said for nominating someone capable of claiming the disaffected middle ground.

Sanders may not have brought out the votes of the people that end up swinging this one way or another. Trump is scaring them away or towards Clinton!

I guess you still don't understand why Trump is the nominee?

People are fed up with the same old bullshit. It's why Sanders did decently (not because America is ready to turn socialist). A lot of people are fed up with the same old PC bullshit. Getting ripped off by the left and the right is exactly the same to them, now, and they f**king hate it.

It's the same reason why One Nation is back, NXT has risen and Australia is now beset with minor parties.

No one actually agrees with what they say (well, almost nobody) but, f**k it, give the non-politician a go because it can't be any worse, and we can stick it to those self-serving merkins at the same time.

In this vein, Trump and Hanson are great candidates.

Unless the West wakes up and realises that it needs a radical rethink of how politicians operate then this is new normal.

Yeah, spot on.

Not arguing with that.

I absolutely get why Hanson and Trump have momentum. Their typical supporter is 49 to 70, their education is high school at best, they have low nett worth and they lack job security because of the traditional industries that employ them. They are low income blue collar genuine merkins who don't feel like they are being heard. They harbour racial resentment and blame others for the rise in the cost of living and how "hard" they perceive their lives to be. They feel that they have been left behind due to globalization which in their view benefits only the top end of town.

Ironically, they are finding solace in the conservative side of politics whom by definition views their plight with little sympathy. Indeed the conservatives live by the notion that human well being is best advanced through personal responsibility and private institutions. So as much as the disaffected blue collar workers are reaching out to Trump and Co, they are actually the ones who benefit the least from their appointment to office.

Trump never expected to win his party's nomination.

He was probably using it as some self promotion and the rest is history ...

The Senator from the Family First Party, Bob Day, has today resigned from parliament.

The lass who came second on his ticket is Lucy Gichuhi formerly from Kenya. I hope she gets the gig rather than the stereotypical white male in his 60's, The more women involved in running the country the better for mine.

Why?

Gender should be irrelevant for mine. Whomever can fulfill the requirements of the role best should be the candidate to get it. If they have a pair of tits or a pair of testicles, I don't really care, just get on with the job...

PS - back from my 6 week overseas holiday... I missed you merkins..... good to be back!

That senator above Bob Day owns Huxley Homes and has 100's of homes under contruction. His company is now under administration. Tragic for families.
